Check to be sure you are downloading the correct software for your switcher type. Copy this software to a PC and then copy the resulting 10 files to a 1.44M floppy disk. It is best to use a disk that was formatted on the switcher to be upgraded. The current version is 6.0r3 but you should also have a copy of 5.3r3 in case you wish to reload software. You can’t reload the same version of software over itself so it would be necessary to go back to an earlier version before reloading the 6.0r3 build.
NOTE:
The 3000 Auto Chroma Key software is loaded to the Frame Store board after each full system software upgrade has been completed. The 4000-3 WIPE software is only intended for those switchers that require Wipe capabilities on the PGM/PST rows and button changes are required for the Joystick delegates with this version.
To load System software you will need to flip the load switch up on the Frame Control Proc 1 board. You will see a yellow LED come ON. Then take your new floppy disk and place it in the Panel drive and set the Panel CPU board Diagnostics rotary switch to position 9 and press reset on this board. The Control Panel CPU is located in the bottom of the panel tub on the 2200’s, 3000-2, 4000-2, and 3T Panels. For the 3000-3 and 4000-3 panels the CPU is mounted in the back of the upper splash panel tub just to the left of the pattern select buttons.
If your floppy disk was created properly you will see a 10 second count down followed by a table showing current board software and check sum versions. You will see a “YES” next to boards that can be upgraded and a [Start] select in the bottom left corner. If only your Panel is recognized check the load switch on the Frame Control proc to be sure it was enabled. If your floppy disk doesn’t auto launch when the Panel CPU is reset please contact Customer Service at 1-800-547-8949 for help.
