Grass Valley Shows Cutting-Edge Production at CABSAT 2011

San Francisco, California, February 07, 2011 — Live HD production, high-quality AV solutions, and 3D will be the highlights from Grass Valley™ at this year's CABSAT exhibition in Dubai on February 8-10, 2011 in Sheikh Saeed Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center. Visitors will get hands-on time with many of Grass Valley's leading products and solutions. Grass Valley is located on stand S3-C42.

The camera area features both the Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite multi-format high-definition camera—the world's choice for live production, and the LDK 8300 Super SloMo camera for smooth replays of up to three times normal speed. The LDK 8300 will be shown as a complete capture and replay system in combination with the K2 Summit™ media server and the K2 Dyno™ Replay Controller.

Also on display will be the Kayenne™ Video Production Center, the most powerful switcher available today. Experts will be on hand to take visitors through its remarkable capabilities, including the seamless way it handles stereoscopic 3D production. The production demonstration is completed with a full Aurora™ newsroom system using the K2 Summit and K2 Solo™ media servers delivering virtual VTR performance. Alongside the newsroom will be a full EDIUS® editing workstation, shown in conjunction with a T2™ intelligent digital disk recorder (iDDR).

Grass Valley products can also be seen on the stand of the company's distribution partner, Tek Signals, which will be featuring the MEDIAEDGE® video distribution system. Tek Signals is based in Abu Dhabi and will be on stand S3 B31.

Ray Baldock, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Grass Valley, will present two papers sponsored by the ASBU (Arab States Broadcasting Union) after the conclusion of CABSAT. The first, "Delivering File-based Workflow Solutions for Sports Production," will be presented during the Arab HDTV Group meeting on Friday, February 11. The second paper, "Image Sensors for Broadcast Cameras: CCD vs. CMOS—Facts and Fiction—A Technical Overview," will be presented during the ASBU Technical Group meeting at the NOVOTEL World Trade Center, on Saturday, February 12.
