Grass Valley Introduces New Karrera Switcher to the Asian Market
San Francisco, Calif., November 2, 2011 — After its successful launch at IBC, the new Grass Valley™ Karrera™ Video Production Center switcher will be introduced to the Asian market, as part of a series of educational seminars taking place in November.
Grass Valley is known around the world for the highest-quality production switchers available today. Leveraging its extensive engineering expertise with the Kayenne™ Video Production Center and Kayak™ switchers, Grass Valley now brings top-of-the-line production capabilities to more applications and more users through this new, lower-cost switcher platform.
Karrera is a fully digital 10-bit 4:2:2 video switcher with up to 96 inputs and 48 outputs. It features HD/SD SDI signal support with (optional) up/down/crossconverters on selected inputs and outputs, with six keyers in every full M/E. Karrera also offers a unique 1 M/E soft panel and keyboard option for use in a secondary production suite or standalone applications. Karrera simplifies multiple output production with DoubleTake™ split M/E mode, FlexiKey™ programmable clean feed, Transition Chaining, Source Rules, and Suites mode along with all the signal processing capability you would expect from the leader in switcher manufacturing.
At the recent IBC 2011 international trade show, the editors and awards committees of three of the most influential trade publications that cover the broadcast and video production industries recognized Karrera as one of the best new technology introductions. Broadcast Engineering World gave the Karrera its coveted "Pick Hit" award while TV Technology Europe recognized the Karrera with its "STAR (Superior Technology Award Recipient)" award.
