San Francisco, Calif., December 07, 2011 — With a sharp focus on strengthening its global order management, fulfillment operations, and customer support while improving its companywide operations, Grass Valley™ has announced the appointment of Gale England to the new position of Senior Vice President, Global Operations & Quality. As a highly experienced expert on corporate transformations, England has built an impressive track record of streamlining business practices at technology industry companies and positioning them for long-term growth. England will report to Grass Valley President and CEO Alain Andreoli.

Based in Nevada City, California, England is responsible for implementing new strategies and methodologies that ensure faster and more cost effective delivery of Grass Valley products to customers worldwide. He has also been tasked with advancing the company's operations strategy and identifying new efficiencies directly related to Grass Valley's sales and service locations, system design teams, supply chain, and manufacturing methods.

"The appointment of Gale England as Senior Vice President, Global Operations & Quality, is the next step in the evolution of Grass Valley's operational infrastructure," said Alain Andreoli, President and CEO of Grass Valley. "With Gale on board, we will be able to continue to fine-tune our operations for the benefit of our customers."

With more than 35 years of experience in the data communications, telecommunications, and software industries, England brings a wealth of experience to his new post. For the past seven years, he served as Vice President, Product Operations for Sonus Networks, Inc. (a provider of IP networking systems) where he transformed its operations and achieved significant financial improvement in earnings and product margins.

"My goal is to develop and implement new creative ways of thinking about how Grass Valley does business," said England. "The first order of business is to ensure that our current procurement and delivery logistics are the best they can be, in order to successfully meet our customer's needs and strengthen the company's bottom line. I'm pleased to be joining such an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team."

Before joining Sonus, England led two technology companies—Numetrix and Realm—as Chief Executive Officer and also held various other senior leadership positions in product development, operations, manufacturing planning, and logistics. For nine years prior to that, he was a guest lecturer on corporate transformations at Stanford University, located in Palo Alto, California.

England earned a Bachelors degree in Economics from California State University, and several Technical Management Certifications from Boston University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
