Amsterdam, The Netherlands (IBC — Stand 1.D11), September 10, 2009 — The recently announced landmark playout facility planned for Australia, a joint venture between the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and WIN Corporation (WIN), has selected Grass Valley™ as the prime contractor to design, build, and equip a major new multi-channel, multi-client HD/SD playout center in Australia. The custom-built playout center will include ingest, storage, asset management, automated playout, monitoring, and headend systems with all applicable equipment and professional services being provided by Grass Valley, according to the multi-million euro agreement.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands (IBC — Stand 1.D11), September 10, 2009 — Dahlia TV, a digital terrestrial pay-TV service owned by AirPlus TV Group (based in Sweden), has developed an end-to-end SD content distribution platform for subscribers in Italy based on Grass Valley™ routers, master control and branding systems, and video servers. The new service, which includes live and pre-taped sports and lifestyle programming, was launched earlier this year and is now available in 85 percent of Italian homes.

The project was initiated to comply with the country's government mandate to begin broadcasting digitally in 2008.
