November 16, 2011 — Grass Valley™ has unveiled a powerful 3D toolset for its EDIUS® multiformat nonlinear editing software and has added 3D support for editing peripherals that provides users with a complete stereoscopic 3D postproduction workflow. The STORM™ 3G and STORM 3G Elite editing platforms —are both supported via the EDIUS timeline with stereoscopic 3D I/O through a single 3G SDI source and/or dual 3G SDI signals.

The prestigious Remi Award is named after famed sculptor Frederick Remington and was given to Tobe Carey, producer/director at Willow Mixed Media, a not-for-profit arts group located near Woodstock, NY, and the man chiefly responsible for the project.

A subsidiary of China Weather Bureau, which provides weather service and information to the public, Huafeng Group went on the air in March, using five EDIUS® laptop editing stations and five K2 Summit™ media servers to edit, record and playout content for 22 TV channels across China.

The MXF-based system uses Grass Valley K2 Summit™ and K2 Solo™ media servers with EDIUS® editing workstations integrated with HD Vietnam's (the region's Grass Valley-qualified local systems integrator) traffic and automation software.

The new Grass Valley news production platform will be fully operational in April.
