The convention will be held at the Makuhari Messe Exhibition Center in Makuhari, November 18-20.
Thomson Canopus' exhibit will focus on the areas of professional production, post production, and cable/telco distribution technologies most important to Japan and the Asia-Pacific region broadcasters, CATV headends, and production professionals. These systems support a variety of HD and multi-platform workflows and file-based infrastructures while enabling cost-effective deployment and a fast return on investment.
Multi-format HD Production
The exhibit will highlight the new Grass Valley T2™ Intelligent Digital Disk Recorder (iDDR), which offers for a 1-in 2-out SD/HD-SDI input/output with real-time recording capabilities, providing for a file based HD video recording solution as well as time-delayed playback and simultaneous multiple outputs, for use in a wide variety of workflows. Grass Valley's EDIUS® HD editing software will be demonstrated through Thomson Canopus' new REXCEED MODEL6000 Series turnkey systems, which integrates seamlessly with the EDIUS Workgroup Server and the EDIUS XRE external rendering/conform server. In addition, EDIUS' newest update to its highly popular consumer based NLE editing software, EDIUS Neo 2 Booster, will demonstrate its new real-time editing/viewing of AVCHD video files. In the area of live broadcast video production, Grass Valley's award winning Kayenne™ Video Production Center — the world's most powerful switcher — will demonstrate the power and performance of Grass Valley's switcher technology.
HD Playout and Signal Distribution
Playout systems on hand will include the powerful Grass Valley K2 Solo™ portable 2-channel video server, as well as the K2 Dyno™/K2 Summit™ live event production controller and client, which will offer support for XDCAM and AVC-Intra recording and. In addition to the K2 Solo video server, K2 Dyno, and K2 Summit production client system, the MEDIAEDGE-APM cost efficient automated video playout system for small scale broadcast stations as well as CATV channels. Also on hand will be the world's most popular broadcast router, the high-performance, 3 Gb/s-capable Trinix™ NXT, as well as the ultra-flexible, multi-format Concerto™ Series video routing switcher, and the compact Acappella™ routing line.
For high-quality video compression, Grass Valley's line of ViBE EM3000 and EM2000 encoders will be on display. These include the latest combined MPEG-4/MPEG-2 technologies and are helping program distributors send more channels using existing bandwidth.
The latest in Digital Signage technology will also be on display with Grass Valley's MEDIAEDGE4, which allows for live H.264 streaming and VOD, to better utilize the full bandwidth, and yet not sacrifice quality. In addition to the MEDIAEDGE4 lineup, is the HDMA-4100 network compatible HD video player, which supports a wide variety of video playback options including MPEG-2/H.264 video, still images, text and audio.
