KTV also purchased Grass Valley's GV STRATUS Nonlinear Media Production Tools and K2 Summit media server for a complete, file-based workflow to be used in conjunction with EDIUS for powerful editing functionality across its newsroom operations.

MONTREAL, April 8, 2014 — As part of its ongoing commitment to open standards architecture, Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, today announced a partnership with UK-based Marquis Broadcast to expand the functionality and capability of its GV STRATUS Nonlinear Media Production toolset and the K2 Summit media server. Grass Valley will incorporate Marquis' MEWS API services to enable the quick and easy exchange of files between GV STRATUS and Avid solutions, as well as other third-party products. Marquis' technology will also be used to enable the interoperability with other products requiring OP Atom file creation and additional file transfer types.

Hillsboro, Ore., March 19, 2014 — In a move that rounds out a full migration to HD programming, Schurz Communications-owned CBS affiliate WDBJ in Roanoke, Virginia, is upgrading its existing Aurora™ system from Grass Valley® to GV STRATUS® nonlinear media production tools and EDIUS® 7 multiformat nonlinear editing software for enhanced production and full HD news delivery. WDBJ produces six daily newscasts that deliver breaking news and weather updates, as well as locally-produced sports programs for viewers across the state of Virginia. With the help of Grass Valley's premiere partner Digital Video Group (DVG), and its longstanding relationship with WDBJ, the new HD system was first demoed and then configured to WDBJ's exact specifications, making the transition easy.

Hillsboro, Ore., March 17, 2014 — Executives at Myanmar's MRTV are glad they chose a robust solution from Grass Valley® for the capture and delivery of live HD coverage of the 2013 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. This solution included a sophisticated broadcast infrastructure for MRTV's International Broadcast Center (IBC), which was designed to enable unilateral broadcast services for the Games. MRTV operates Myanmar's state-owned satellite television station MRTV. The station airs 12 local channels and 14 regional channels throughout Myanmar, reaching millions of viewers.

Hillsboro, Ore., March 13, 2014 — NZ Live, a new start-up broadcast facility in Auckland, has selected a fully integrated, turnkey, high-definition broadcast production solution from Grass Valley® to outfit its new facility. NZ Live will focus on feed recording, production, post-production, and playout of live sports programming from all over New Zealand. Initially, NZ Live will produce all the racing events throughout the country for the New Zealand Racing Board, but the facility is designed and purposed to cover all facets of broadcast workflows including OB operations and playout facilities. NZ Live expects to be on-air in late September 2014. This deal represents a powerful step forward for Grass Valley's presence in the growing broadcast market in New Zealand and Australia.

Hillsboro, Ore., February 4, 2014 — Kompas TV, an Indonesian broadcaster, has selected GV STRATUS® nonlinear media production tools from Grass Valley® for its newsroom operation upgrade. Kompas TV selected to upgrade because the scale of their news and sports production has increased from three hours per day to more than eight hours per day. With this increased production scale, Kompas TV opted for GV STRATUS as it met the broadcaster's requirements for a more reliable system that provides a faster turnaround on news and includes shared storage and collaborative workflows. GV STRATUS will be used with K2 Summit® 3G production clients, K2 SAN production storage and EDIUS® Elite multiformat nonlinear editing software.
