MONTREAL, April 8, 2014 — Japan's KTV, the Kansai Telecasting Corporation located in Osaka, has migrated to a full 4K editing system with powerful, forward-thinking newsroom solutions from Grass Valley, A Belden Brand. The station has purchased the EDIUS HDWS 4K desktop turnkey system and EDIUS Elite HDWS 3GX system for powerful, real-time 4K editing capabilities. KTV also purchased Grass Valley's GV STRATUS Nonlinear Media Production Tools and K2 Summit media server for a complete, file-based workflow to be used in conjunction with EDIUS for powerful editing functionality across its newsroom operations.

Hillsboro, Ore., March 19, 2014 — In a move that rounds out a full migration to HD programming, Schurz Communications-owned CBS affiliate WDBJ in Roanoke, Virginia, is upgrading its existing Aurora™ system from Grass Valley® to GV STRATUS® nonlinear media production tools and EDIUS® 7 multiformat nonlinear editing software for enhanced production and full HD news delivery. WDBJ produces six daily newscasts that deliver breaking news and weather updates, as well as locally-produced sports programs for viewers across the state of Virginia. With the help of Grass Valley's premiere partner Digital Video Group (DVG), and its longstanding relationship with WDBJ, the new HD system was first demoed and then configured to WDBJ's exact specifications, making the transition easy.

Hillsboro, Ore., February 4, 2014 — Kompas TV, an Indonesian broadcaster, has selected GV STRATUS® nonlinear media production tools from Grass Valley® for its newsroom operation upgrade. Kompas TV selected to upgrade because the scale of their news and sports production has increased from three hours per day to more than eight hours per day. With this increased production scale, Kompas TV opted for GV STRATUS as it met the broadcaster's requirements for a more reliable system that provides a faster turnaround on news and includes shared storage and collaborative workflows.
