GeckoFlex 8921ADT Four-Channel Audio A-to-D Converter with Delay Tracking

The 8921ADT provides conversion of four channels of analog audio to two digital audio streams. In addition to conversion, it offers two forms of delay. These delays are summed—a fixed delay of up to 1.5 seconds and a variable delay based on a signal from video decoders fitted with frame synchronizers or directly from a frame sync card, enabling adjustment for large, fixed lip sync errors while continually adjusting audio delay to match video delay created by the frame synchronizer. Operational modes allow modification to the outgoing signal, such as levels, channel swapping, channel summing, and phase inversion plus channel pairing for the digital audio streams. Many adjustments to this card can be performed directly on the module card-edge controls, while a few of the more complex adjustments require the Web-based interface or the Newton™ control panel.

  • User-selectable 48 kHz or 96 kHz sampling rates
  • 24-bit ADC A-to-D conversion
  • >105 dB "A" weighted signal-to-noise ratio
  • Independent control of each audio channel including channel pairing, level adjustment, swapping, summation, phase inversion, delay up to 1.5 seconds, test tone generation
  • Auto tracking delay of video frame synchronizers (8900FSS, 8981FS)
  • Four inputs, two pairs of balanced High Z analog audio inputs:
    • Supports levels up to +30 dBu
  • Looping reference input supports NTSC/PAL color black, AES signal, 48 kHz or 96 kHz DARS
  • Options:
    • 8900-A-CBL package of four cables, breakout cable package converts three pin balanced AES audio to dual 75Ω BNCs, unbalanced AES audio
