The 8921DAC provides conversion of two digital audio streams, either balanced or unbalanced, to four analog audio outputs. In addition to digital to analog conversion, it offers per-channel independent delay with up to 5 seconds per channel. Its various modes enable modification of the outgoing analog signal, such as channel gain, swapping, channel summing, phase inversion, and more. Many adjustments to this card can be performed directly on the module's card-edge controls while a few of the more complex adjustments require the Web-based interface or the Newton™ control panel.
