GeckoFlex 8925EMB-U HD/SD & Digital Audio (AES/Dolby E) Embedder

The 8925EMB-U is a compact eight-channel HD/SD digital audio embedder (multiplexer) board. It provides three distributed SDI outputs with embedded audio and one output acting as an input reclocked loop-through. This board is ideal for building dense HD/SD and audio infrastructure for production and playout applications.

The board automatically detects the audio format, and Dolby E streams are also detected and passed transparently. The AES inputs can handle asynchronous audio and sampling rates from 32 kHz to 96 kHz, which are converted to synchronous 48 kHz embedded within the video stream.

With its fiber-ready architecture, the 8925EMB‑U can be configured to support up to two fiber inputs and two fiber outputs. With the fiber transmitter or transceiver option, it can take video from copper or fiber, embed audio, and transmit over fiber in one single slot. The receiver option makes it ideal for receiving incoming feeds from longer distances and locally embedding audio.

All parameters can be adjusted via standard HTML web browsers or via the Newton Control Panel. In addition, NetConfig and CommandCenter can be used for remote configuration and signal health monitoring.

  • Eight-channel (four stream) HD/SD digital audio embedder (multiplexer)
  • Four unbalanced AES inputs
  • Accepts asynchronous PCM audio
  • Supports Dolby E
  • Three HD/SD SDI outputs with embedded audio
  • Sample rate conversion accepts 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, or 96 kHz
  • Embeds 20 or 24 bits
  • Fiber-ready option for receiving or transmitting over fiber
  • Embedding audio into an HD-SDI stream
  • Embedding asynchronous PCM digital audio
  • Embedding audio channels and sending an HD-SDI signal over fiber
  • Suitable for use where existing embedded audio needs to be combined with incoming embedded audio
