GeckoFlex 8943RDA-DFR Dual 3G/HD/SD Reclocking Distribution Amplifier Fiber-Ready

The 8943RDA-DFR is a fiber-ready HD/SD/3G-SDI reclocking DA with two dedicated electrical inputs and seven reclocked electrical outputs (in four output pairs). An optional fiber optic sub-board can be installed to provide additional fiber optic inputs and outputs.

The board can equalize up to 90 meters for input 1 (J10) and 100 meters for input 2 (J8) of Belden 1694A cable for HD/3G-SDI. It can distribute either HD/3G-SDI or SD-SDI, making it ideal for mixed format applications or installations where an upgrade to HD/3G is planned. It is also completely DVB ASI compliant.

With its fiber-ready architecture, the 8943RDA-DFR can be configured as a fiber receiver, providing two fiber optic inputs that can be mapped to feed seven electrical outputs (in output pairs). The two fiber optic inputs are both active along with the dedicated electrical inputs. This makes the board ideal where redundant feeds are used.

Using the dual transmitter fiber option, this board can distribute two additional fiber outputs as well as the seven electrical outputs (in output pairs) allowing it to feed both local and remote locations simultaneously. This can also provide redundant fiber feeds.

With the transceiver option, the 8943RDA-DFR makes a flexible DA ready for either fiber in or fiber out applications. The fiber option makes it ideal for receiving signals from distant downlinks or transmitting to remote uplinks.

All parameters can be configured directly from the card edge or via a standard HTML web browser when the 8900NET Network Interface board has been installed. The board operation and configuration, as well as the signal presence and format can be monitored using industry standard SNMP protocol via the 8900NET board.

  • Supports HD/SD/3G-SDI rates up to 1080p
  • Auto or manual input format selection
  • Fiber-ready for fiber optic sub-board option for receiving or distributing over single-mode fiber
  • Two dedicated electrical inputs
  • Seven reclocked electrical outputs (in four output pairs: 3x2 and 1x1)
  • Configurable input to output mapping
  • 100% DVB ASI compliant
  • High connectivity input/output density with multiple configurations
  • Remote control and monitoring via Ethernet chassis interface
  • Input to output mapping: all available inputs can be active at the same time and are configurable to any output pair or available optional fiber optic output (one input per electrical output pair or fiber optic output). Availability of fiber optic inputs and outputs depends on the type of option fiber optic sub-board installed
  • Distributing HD/3G signals or mixed HD/3G and SD format installations
  • Installations where an SD to HD/3G update is planned
  • Combining HD/3G, SD, or ASI distribution with a long-distance isolated fiber connection
Supported Chassis Types
GeckoFlex chassis
