GeckoFlex 8949MDA-SFR SDI Monitoring Distribution Amplifier

The 8949MDA-SFR is a monitoring distribution amplifier with SD-SDI monitoring outputs. This module is ideal for low-cost monitoring of HD-SDI signals. The 8949MDA-SFR provides four monitoring outputs and four reclocked outputs and can be used to distribute either HD-SDI or SD-SDI making it ideal for mixed format applications or installations where an upgrade is planned.

Thanks to its fiber-ready architecture the 8949MDA-SFR can be configured to support up to two fiber connections in addition to its eight coax outputs. Applications include use as an HD-SDI fiber transmitter with additional monitoring and reclocked coax feeds.

All parameters can be adjusted directly from the module itself or via standard HTML Web browsers or via the Newton™ Control Panel (when installed in network equipped frames). In addition NetConfig™ and NetCentral® can be used for remote configuration and signal health monitoring.

Please note that the 8949MDA-SFR provides 16:9 anamorphic monitoring outputs for HD signals and 4:3 outputs for SD inputs. The 8949MDA-CFR should be selected if a composite monitoring output is required. This is a monitoring device so, in order to provide the fastest possible conversion, the module does not perform de-interlacing and consequently it has an extremely short processing delay of 0.95 ms.

  • Reclocked distribution of HD-SDI signals for reconstructed input fan-out
  • SD-SDI monitoring
  • Can distribute both HD-SDI and SD-SDI with automatic format detection for flexible future-proof system architectures
  • Provides SD monitoring output whether input is SD or HD
  • Very high-density solution
  • Accepts optional fiber transmitter to provide optical, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI monitoring outputs for combined local/remote systems
  • Configurable as fiber receiver with four HD-SDI outputs and SD-SDI monitoring
  • High-quality downscaled signals (embedded audio and HANC data will be passed on all SDI outputs except for downscaled HD monitoring outputs)
  • Where an SD-SDI monitoring feed is required
  • HD-SDI distribution alongside SD-SDI monitoring
  • Rate-agile systems requiring consistent SD feed monitoring
  • A fiber receiver with SD monitoring
  • A fiber transmitter with local HD and SD monitoring feeds
