GeckoFlex 8985FSP SD/HD Frame Synchronizer with Proc. Amp & Color Corrector

The 8985FSP is a fiber-ready, compact HD/SD frame synchronizer module with a video proc. amp capability, including RGB and component color correction. With the same low-hysteresis synchronizer, perfect-picture mode, and redundant-reference feature as the 8985FS, this module is suited to production and playout applications where synchronization needs to be combined with comprehensive video signal control. The minimum delay while synchronizing is 300 pixels, which makes this unit ideal for live applications. The HD/SD capability is ideal for installations that will be upgraded or that have to handle both rates. Embedded audio including Dolby E is passed through but not processed. Fiber-ready technology allows this module to accept one of three types of SFP fiber optic submodules. One submodule option can be installed in the fiber optic rear cage connector to provide two fiber inputs (Dual Receiver), two fiber outputs (Dual Transmitter), or one fiber input/one fiber output (Transceiver). The 8900NET (Net Card) module is required for Web browser or Newton control panel configuration and NetConfig™ and NetCentral® control and SNMP signal health monitoring.

  • HD/SD frame synchronizer with proc. amp
  • RGB color correction for adjusting gain, offset, and gamma
  • Video proc. amp controls for adjusting component gain, offset, and color saturation and Y/C white and Y black clipping levels
  • Split screen mode for in/out comparison
  • Fiber-ready design supports upgrade to optical receiver/transmitter/or transceiver
  • Select between coaxial input and up to two optional fiber inputs
  • Operates in frame-sync or delay modes, with programmable delay
  • Accepts reference input submodule for local reference input or feeding reference buses
  • Synchronization of HD-SDI or SD-SDI signals from asynchronous sources
  • Compensation of cable or processing delay from synchronous sources
  • Timing video signals before routing or switching and after routing
  • Low-latency synchronization for latency-critical live broadcasts
  • Video signal color processing to correct or match other sources
