Grass Valley® GeckoFlex™ solutions support a number of IT-based control options when used in conjunction with an 8900NET (Net Card) Network Interface module.

Configuring GeckoFlex products and adjusting their parameters could not be easier, as it requires only a standard Web browser; so there is no special software to download. However, to make the configuration of a system even easier, the Grass Valley NetConfig application is available to help structure your system view in the same browser.

You can also use a Newton™ Ethernet-based control system panel to configure GeckoFlex products. This 1 RU hardware panel can provide an ideal real-time operating environment via control of parameters on a GeckoFlex module or combination of modules. You can configure your own preferred set of parameters and map them to Newton controls. You can leave out controls that are unnecessary, or dangerous, and combine controls from multiple modules. In this way the Newton system provides a "front panel" for complete systems—creating virtual products.

As an Ethernet-based product, the Newton system can be positioned wherever your operators need it most. A soft-panel version is also available that will run on a Windows PC, saving space where a PC is already available or where PC operation is preferred.

For remote configuration and signal-health monitoring, all GeckoFlex solutions support the Grass Valley NetConfig and NetCentral software products.

Instant Control of Multiple Modules
You need only a standard Web browser to configure and adjust the parameter of a GeckoFlex module. You can also use the Newton control panel for fast, multi-knob access to any combination of modules in a signal-processing path.
