Ignite Konnect
You Can Survive...Or You Can Thrive

Produce More with Less

You need to get more stories on air, but with fewer staff. The operational choices you make are critical.

With the Ignite® Konnect Live Production Automation System—the first and most complete link between the control room and the newsroom—you choose the level of automation that best suits your specific workflow and environment. Speed up transition to digital production and eliminate technical errors, so you can produce more, and better live content without breaking the bank.

When you tie multiple systems together with Ignite, including audio mixers, video servers, graphics, and robotic cameras, you'll find the perfect balance between manual and automated operations.

Automate operations: With Ignite Konnect, you'll produce and broadcast live SD and HD programs with just one or two operators. Ignite's automated, pre-programmed events increase redundancy, reduce on-air technical errors, and improve overall programming quality, so you can meet increasing demands for more, better content.

Optimize current investments: Move to flexible control room automation without changing your existing switcher workflow. Ignite Konnect scales up to meet your needs, so you can leverage the effects you've already built and take advantage of your existing Kayenne® Video Production Center or Kayak™ switchers.

The Ignite® Konnect Live Control Room Automation System is a software and hardware system that lets customers add production automation to their existing Grass Valley Kayenne or Kalypso switcher and choose the level of automation required. It's perfect for non-scripted events, such as election coverage, talk shows, live entertainment segments, and late-breaking news stories. An Ignite Konnect system allows a broadcaster to produce more live content cost effectively, speed the transition to digital production, improve a station's on-air look and feel, and virtually eliminate technical errors.

Transition to automation at your own pace
  • Ignite Konnect scales up to meet your needs while leveraging the power of your existing Kalypso or Kayenne switcher. To ensure a comfortable transition, users can use both systems simultaneously during production.
  • Access the effects, E-MEMs and Macros already built on the switcher directly from Ignite.

Ignite Konnect provides direct control of all production resources
  • Unlike other automation systems which merely trigger external MOS lists, requiring additional workstations, Ignite Konnect extracts the production data directly from the NRCS keeping all on-air playout elements in sync.
  • Ignite Konnect provides access to the new features in the Kayenne switcher such as Source Rules and DoubleTake.

With consistent preprogrammed events, Ignite Konnect reduces on-air technical errors, thereby improving program quality
  • The Ignite Konnect event-based system allows the user to quickly execute complex production elements in any order, producing a better paced, high-quality, consistent live production.
  • Ignite Konnect handles multiple production tasks, which are usually performed by individual operators at separate workstations, with the press of a single button, thereby eliminating errors caused by multiple operational processes.

Ignite Konnect excels at getting non-scripted breaking news to air first, ahead of the competition
  • Ignite Konnect allows users to store complex production events within late breaking news (LBN) buttons which can be immediately recalled within an existing list of events, or completely independent of the NRCS rundown, with the press of a single button.
  • With Ignite Konnect LBN technology, you no longer have to wait for your news production staff to arrive during off hours, but can easily train a person to be able to execute the pre-built, LBN production events to get breaking news to air quickly.

Ignite Konnect scales to meet the requirements of all markets and gives all broadcasters the benefits of control room automation, with the ability to grow as your operations expand
  • Ignite Konnect is able to handle the production demands of large-market stations, which typically require the ability to handle fast-paced dynamic changes.
  • Ignite Konnect provides small and medium markets production consistency that rival the look and feel of fast-paced large-market stations.
  • Ignite Konnect can be used in corporate and educational applications to produce more content, cost-effectively, utilizing the latest production tools and automated techniques.

Ignite Konnect, in combination with MediaFUSE®, is designed to make multi-distribution content repurposing for the Web and mobile devices more efficient
  • The Ignite Konnect event-based system allows the producer to incorporate segmentation information throughout the entire broadcast production process, thereby eliminating the need to re-cut the material before distribution on new platforms.
  • Ignite Konnect allows the director to add descriptive data, such as URL links at specific times, for later use in creating on-demand clips, requiring no additional manual intervention for distribution.

Ignite Konnect provides redundancy options giving you the security necessary to maintain uninterrupted on-air operations
  • Partial redundant system offers CPU backup which provides security for the most critical functions in control room automation. Partial redundant systems may be upgraded to full redundancy at any time.
  • Partial and fully redundant systems can be configured with a secondary workstation, so that you can prep one show while producing another.

Ignite Konnect is designed to perform complex audio operations through its internal GUI at a level traditionally found only with external audio mixer panels
  • With the addition of the optional audio mixer, Ignite Konnect can manage the mix, timed transition, dynamics (including EQ, compression, expansion, delay), mix-minus, and aux routing of all audio sources without the need for a separate audio operator.
  • While other solutions may only do very simplistic audio follow video routing, the audio capabilities of Ignite Konnect allow it to manage all audio functions required, even during the most complex broadcasts.
  • Tie multiple systems together to meet your automation needs, including audio mixers, video servers, graphics, and robotic cameras
  • Move to flexible control room automation without changing your existing switcher workflow
  • Add automation modules as you need them
  • Operate both Ignite Konnect and switcher functions seamlessly during productions
  • Use the effects you’ve already built—and from the Ignite Konnect UI directly control E-MEMs, macros, timelines, transitions, bus routes, and M/E partitions
  • Access new features in the Kayenne switcher such as Source Rules and Suites mode
  • Integrate industry-driven MOS workflows
  • Efficiently repurpose content for Web and mobile in combination with MediaFUSE®
