K2 Final Cut Pro Connect
Discover Ingenious Integration

The Grass Valley® K2 Final Cut Pro (FCP) Connect application allows for reliable integration with your K2 system and Grass Valley STRATUS™ nonlinear production tools. It also gives you access to a terrific set of tools for working with Apple FCP 7 NLEs.

A powerful plug-in: The K2 FCP Connect plug-in is brimming with powerful functionality. You can edit-in-place and make easy file transfers between K2 storage and FCP 7. What's more, you can browse your K2 content without having to leave FCP 7, saving you valuable time. Perhaps best of all, this K2 product provides FCP 7 with Quality of Service on a K2 SAN, which allocates bandwidth across all editors, eliminating the problem of one person slowing down the team.

Support when you need it: The K2 FCP Connect application supports a variety of formats to make your life easier: DV25/DV50/DVHD, IMX 35/50, XDCAM HD 25/35/50, and AVC-Intra 50/100.

Imagine better browsing: GV Browse opens up a whole new world of browsing. You can connect to your GV STRATUS system and search the database, see low-resolution proxies, search metadata, and send pointers of the high-res clips to the FCP 7 project for editing.

  • Edit-in-Place directly on the K2 file system without transferring files
  • Edit growing files enables editing to start shortly after a file starts recording
  • High-performance with iSCSI or Fibre Channel connections for HD multi-level editing
  • Easy file transfers by providing a view of the K2 file system with browse capability from within FCP 7
  • Quality of Service to evenly allocate bandwidth between all users
  • Script viewer window lets you see your NRCS script from within FCP 7 (Aurora Playout and X-MOS Server required)
  • GV BROWSE application lets you connect to Aurora and K2 BaseCamp and search, view proxies and metadata off the database, and edit high resolution material within FCP 7
  • Ability to use K2 FCP Connect features via CIFS mount to a standalone K2 client
