The Grass Valley™ K2 FCP Connect 2.0 application, including the GV Connect plug-in for Final Cut Pro 7 and the new GV BROWSE application allows your FCP 7 system to be tightly integrated with your K2 system and AURORA Production Suite with a complete set of tools for working with Apple Final Cut Pro 7 NLEs.
The GV CONNECT plug-in enables edit in place and easy file transfers between K2 storage and FCP 7, including the ability to browse K2 content from within FCP 7. Most importantly, it provides FCP 7 with Quality of Service, which allocates bandwidth across all editors. The application supports DV25/DV50/DVHD, IMX 35/50, XDCAM HD 25/35/50, and AVC-Intra 50/100 formats.
FCP Connect solves the problem of one editor using excessive bandwidth leaving other editors with insufficient bandwidth for their editing requirements. By allocating bandwidth across all editors, everyone is assured of being able to do their job. Connectivity options for a K2 SAN are iSCSI or Fibre Channel. These connections provide the highest performance and functionality. For K2 standalones, a CIFS connection is available.
NEW!
The GV CONNECT plug-in now let you open a script viewer window connecting to your Aurora Playout system with access to ENPS or Avid iNEWS scripts and rundowns.
GV BROWSE let you connect to your Aurora and K2 BaseCamp system and search the database, see low resolution proxies, metadata and send pointers of the high resolution clips to the FCP 7 project for editing making FCP 7 a full client of our Aurora production suite workflow! (version 7.x of Aurora is required)
