K2 Solo HD/SD Server
Portable 2-channel HD/SD Server

K2 Solo™ is a broadcast-capable, 2-channel, portable, cost-effective, standalone server with up to 20 hours of HD storage. It's optimized for both production and broadcast workflows.

K2 Solo represents an evolution of K2 Summit™ technology to create a more space-efficient, highly affordable standalone video server for portable and fixed facility use. It has the same functionality as a two-channel K2 Summit in half the space. K2 Solo is compatible with all the applications that run on K2 Summit, including automation and media asset management. The server also supports the K2 Dyno™ Replay System.

Product Highlights

K2 Solo offer customers the most powerful and flexible portable video server on the market today at a truly affordable price. Pre-configured systems make it easy to order with either SSD or HHD storage and with or without MPEG encoding capability. With no trade-offs in functionality, it can operate side by side with the K2 Summit in all the same markets.

The K2 Solo is the only video server that provides agile codecs enabling playback of SD or HD content seamlessly on the same timeline with any supported format; DV/DVCPRO, MPEG-2, or AVC-Intra (future). It automatically up-, down-, or cross-converts a clip to the desired output resolution providing full support for all SD and HD formats.

For generating quick highlight packages or simple playlists, often all that is required is simple dissolves between two clips. Each channel in the K2 Summit has this capability built-in (most servers require two channels to do a mix effect). An integrated mixer dissolves between two clips or to a matte color.

To easily monitor each channel without extra equipment or desk space, the built-in Multiviewer displays both channels on a standard VGA monitor with transport controls for recording, playback jog/shuttle, or stopping along with audio meters, clip name and other important data. Each channel has an on-air SDI output and an SDI monitoring output with timecode burn-in.

With AppCenter Elite, K2 Solo's two channels can double in capability. For example, with ChannelFlex™ some of the new configurations include:

  • 2 camera inputs and 1 play channel
  • 1 Super SloMO camera input and 1 play channel
  • 4 camera inputs
  • 1 3D camera feed and 1 play channel
  • Video+key record or playout on each channel
