The K2 Summit™ Production Client is optimized for a broad range of production and broadcast applications. K2 Summit is the only server that supports end-to-end SD/HD workflows in DVCPRO, MPEG-2, and AVC-Intra formats.
As an expansion of our award-winning server line, our K2 Summit high-definition (HD) production client features an HD super slow-motion capability; bi-directional operation; and, at only 2 RU, space efficiency. It also has unique features, such as extremely fast record-to-playout performance, that make it ideal for sports, news, live, and live-to-tape applications. K2 Summit is the only server that supports end-to-end SD/HD workflows in DVCPRO, MPEG-2, and AVC-Intra formats.
Flexible Configurations—K2 Summits are available in 2 or 4 channel models with internal or external RAID protected storage or connected to a large SAN system with up to 150 channels or more. Systems can easily be expanded with more storage, more channels or more bandwidth and compression formats can easily be added or changed within each client.
Multiple Format Capabilities—The K2 Summit is the only video server that provides agile codecs enabling playback of SD or HD content seamlessly on the same timeline with any supported format (DV/DVCPRO, MPEG-2, or AVC-Intra). It automatically up-, down-, or cross-converts a clip to the desired output resolution providing full support for all SD and HD formats.
Built-in Mix-Effects—For generating quick highlight packages or simple playlists, often all that is required is simple dissolves between two clips. Each channel in the K2 Summit has this capability built-in (most servers require two channels to do a mix effect). An integrated mixer dissolves between two clips or to a matte color.
Built-in Multiviewer and Monitor—To easily monitor each channel without extra equipment or desk space, the built-in Multiviewer displays all 4 channels on a standard VGA monitor with transport controls for recording, playback jog/shuttle, or stopping along with audio meters, clip name and other important data. Each channel has an on-air SDI output and an SDI monitoring output with timecode burn-in.
ChannelFlex™ Compatible—ChannelFlex doubles K2 Summit's capability from four bi-directional channels to application-specific configurations equivalent to eight channels:
