MediaFUSE
Automated Content Repurposing and Multi-Distribution System

The Grass Valley™ MediaFUSE® automated live and on-demand content repurposing and multi-distribution system makes the repurposing content for web and mobile distribution more efficient, and more profitable, by consolidating multiple production steps into an integrated workflow. Using it, you can repurpose all your broadcast content—including alternate stories and extended-play content—in minutes, not hours. And with minimal resources.

MediaFUSE includes powerful hardware for encoding and transcoding content into more than 40 formats, including Flash, 3GP, Windows Media, H.264, MPEG-2/4, etc., as well as common software tools for preproduction, production, post production and management of extended play content that allow users of all technical abilities to take part in the content repurposing process thus enabling the Create Once, Publish Everywhere workflow. MediaFUSE combined with Ignite™ provides a true live-to-air-to web production environment that supports on-demand and live WMV streaming, with ad and content replacement when interfaced to a supported ad traffic management system via BXF.

Product Highlights
  • MediaFUSE provides easy-to-use tools for use in the newsroom, during live and post-production, and content deployment, which allows those in different departments to take part in the content repurposing process.
  • MediaFUSE enables all journalists to become "multimedia journalists." The newsroom can control the journalistic aspects of content, the Web department can control the technical aspects of multi-distribution, and MediaFUSE automates the encoding, transcoding, automatic editing, metadata control, and other technical aspects with little to no human intervention.
  • Many content repurposing processes today are linear actions which result in delays of getting time-sensitive content to the Web and mobile outlets. MediaFUSE automates the parts of these workflows that traditionally are bottle-necks to result in orders of magnitude of efficiency in getting content repurposed.
  • MediaFUSE can stream content live, with alternate stories and breaks on-the-fly, and the ability to embargo certain content for which there are licensing issues.
  • MediaFUSE provides powerful automated content handling for file-based extended play and raw content – things that today rarely make it to air or to the Web. Monetizing this content is as easy as dragging the clips into watch folders that automatically process and transcode the clips and deliver them to the content management system.
  • MediaFUSE works with iNews (v 2.6.8+) and ENPS (v 6+) to enable the ability to mark stories with metadata prior to them going to air. This metadata is processed during the live production in Ignite to allow for automated segmenting, transcoding, and deployment in minutes.
  • MediaFUSE's post production approval application—FuseAPPROVE—provides non-technical users the ability to trim clips, select thumbnail and slide show images, edit textual accompaniment stories and metadata, and approve extended play content for deployment into the content management system.
  • MediaFUSE does the technical heavy lifting, so users can concentrate on producing better content and managing presentation aspects of Web and mobile delivery.
  • You invest time and money to create valuable content. When you want to repurpose this content for distribution to the Web, mobile, and other mediums, why re-invent the wheel? MediaFUSE provides the tools and technology for your existing staff to quickly and efficiently repurpose up to 5X more content.
