Our S7HP family of transmitters has been designed from the ground up with digital AM operation in mind. Compatible with digital radio mondiale (DRM) systems these field-proven products offer built-in flexibility, advanced technologies for digital signal processing and full processor control, and an all-digital design that makes them a stable, reliable, and future-proof choice.
The Thomson S7HP family of high-power, DRM-ready, long- and medium-wave solid-state transmitters from Grass Valley™ provides a solution for all ranges of power and comprises one "all-in-one" power amplifier block or multiple blocks with a simple combining system that does not require the extra complexity of balancing load. Each amplifier block provides up to 400kW carrier plus 100 percent modulation, using 256 power modules. The power modules are fully interchangeable and do not require any adjustment to cover all LW/MW frequency ranges.
The family is based on a field-proven design combination of advanced digital signal processing and simple and robust architecture. Resulting from our extensive worldwide experience in DRM service implementation, S7HP design is based on a "fully DRM ready" functional breakdown structure. By simply connecting a DRM modulator, members of the S7HP family can be operated in DRM modulation modes with signal on-air optimization.
