STRATUS
Media Workflow Application Framework

STRATUS™ is the next step in the continuing evolution of Grass Valley™ software for the entertainment, playout, and news markets as well as a unique and exciting new concept in combining production tools, device control, and asset management into a single, highly configurable multitasking user interface.

STRATUS works with the K2 Summit™ family of media server and storage products to provide a unified asset model for all asset management use cases and an expandable foundation for new applications and workflows.

The state-of-the-art Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) at the foundation of STRATUS guarantees high performance and a highly configurable user experience. This software architecture allows the creation of a varied and growing set of functional tools, each providing a specific basic function. STRATUS allows these basic building blocks to be used in an almost infinite number of combinations. This means STRATUS can be tailored to studio production, play-to-air, news, and many other broadcast and video production roles.

STRATUS advances the Grass Valley workflow in significant ways, including the groundbreaking combination of asset management and device control, superior proxy workflow support with proxies created "on-the-fly" in the K2 Summit—with more proxy audio channels, production tools such as the Channel Panel tailored for the needs of live studio entertainment, and a new set of software creation tools that enable the rapid rollout of new features and provide a foundation for future advanced multi-site and field-to-site support.
