The LDX 86N Series is the latest addition to the LDX Series, delivering native HD, 3G and 4K images for the highest possible resolution and image clarity. The LDX 86N Series lets you grow into the formats you need tomorrow while buying only what you need today. With a daily, weekly or perpetual GV-eLicense upgrade path, you can move from any single speed HD/3G format to 4K — from 3X HD speed to 6X HD/3X 3G speed — and even a camera that can switch between higher resolution and higher frame rate.

LDX 86 Series High Sensitive (HD/3G/4K/High-Speed)

The LDX 86 Series of cameras offer the perfect solution for all format requirements, especially when light sensitivity is of prime importance. Acquiring in native 1920x1080, the LDX 86 4K and LDX 86 Universe cameras use a unique closed-system process for 3840x2160 UHD where all of the processing takes place within the camera system. This delivers a 4K image with the highest light sensitivity available in any system camera, with images almost indistinguishable from native 4K acquisition in most applications.

LDX C86 Compact HiSpeed 3X HD/3G) and LDX C86 Compact XtremeSpeed 6X (HD) Cameras

The world's first self-contained high-speed cameras in a small form factor for space-constrained applications. As an extension to the LDX range of cameras, they produce the same level of quality from angles and in areas where high-speed cameras with a compact form factor are required.

Trinity Fellowship A Christmas Crisis: How A Multisite Church Replaced — And Enhanced — Its Broadcasts Just In Time For The Holidays With Kayenne K-Frame Case Study

CHALLENGE: Days before Thanksgiving 2015, a lightning strike forced Trinity Fellowship to replace a key production switcher that failed due to a loss of cooling and extreme overheating. Trinity Fellowship, a church with over 13,000 members, relies on its broadcast center for content shown on seven campuses.

SOLUTION: Grass Valley collaborated with the church's equipment dealer, organizing a complete proposal with revisions in less than 24 hours. The church then issued a purchase order for a 4.5 M/E Kayenne K-Frame Video Production Center switcher in less than a week, and during the service on Dec. 4, 2015 — only 11 days later — the switcher debuted.

Multi-Truck Replay Product Spotlight

Sharing LDX 86 XtremeSpeed cameras between two mobile production trucks for replay creation with independent K2 Dyno Replay Systems

By using a solid-state drive (SSD) server in the main truck, a hard disk drive (HDD) server in the second truck and a 1 GigE network between trucks, it is possible to share the recorded high-speed output of two LDX 86 XtremeSpeed 6X super slow-motion (SSM) cameras between BOTH mobile production trucks so that slowmotion operators in each truck can create and share their own SSM replays and playlists.

LDX/K2 Dyno Universe Datasheet

The LDX 86 Universe "universal format" system camera — capable of 1X 4K/3G/HD, 3X 3G/HD and 6X HD — and two K2 Dyno Universe replay system packages; one optimized for 6X super slow-motion (SSM) but fully 4K-capable and one optimized for 4K but fully 6X SMM capable.

With the combined LDX/K2 Dyno Universe, all 4K and all 6X workflows are now possible, with no reduction in the number of cameras and no requirement for more operators (in comparison to HD). K2 Dyno Universe Datasheet

K2 Dyno Universe replay systems from Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, are optimized for 6X or 4K operation, and they're both fully 6X/4K switchable.

What's special about the K2 Dyno Universe systems is that they make 4K and 6X replay much more accessible. For instance, until now, 4K replay would typically require double the number of servers, double the rack space, and double the number of operators in comparison to HD. The result was that 4K replay has been impractical for most events.

Truck Challenge White Paper

The purpose of this study was to measure the technological challenges of mobile TV production. Why measure problems? The reason is simple. If we can better understand the problems that most frequently occur during a mobile production, we will be better able to anticipate those challenges and counter them. Or, as the father of modern management, Peter Drucker, once said, "That which gets measured, improves."

The study targeted high-end sports production professionals involved in mobile production. Our goal was to aggregate the experience of hundreds of people who work in, or manage, mobile productions, and arrive at a universal truth about which operational areas are most challenging. We interviewed industry experts from mobile production companies both large and small, and surveyed professionals at broadcast and cable networks, as well as mobile production companies.
