NEWS PRODUCTION

Tell engaging stories — faster.

News production comes down to one thing: Telling better stories faster to keep viewers engaged and tuned in. That means your entire news organization must work together to produce those stories quickly and accurately.

Whether your newsroom is small or large, Grass Valley News Production solutions can help your reporters, editors and producers do their jobs better – better writing, better editing and better packages that get to air before the competition. With tight NRCS integration and the ability to work in the field just like you work in the newsroom, you can break the news without breaking stride.

"News is the revenue lifeblood of every station doing news. That's why you need a news production system that brings the newsroom into the field so reporters can quickly file a complete story from the field. That gives you comprehensive coverage to air fast, giving you more engaged viewers."

Ed Casaccia,
Senior Manager, News Segment

Break News, Not Your Workflow
Grass Valley gives you the news production power you need to get stories to air first.

GV STRATUS Newsroom Bundles Application Note

The tight integration between GV STRATUS and the EDIUS editor, with its unique and highly optimized hybrid editing workflow, means that journalists can mix and move low-resolution and high-resolution assets — including so-called "wild files" from citizen journalists — across multiple sites, and perform full editing in the field. Because proxy files are used extensively and intelligently, there is no need for complex SAN configurations (although you can, of course, scale up at any time).

This Application Note describes some of the typical workflows and operations that these newsroom bundles facilitate and support.

GV STRATUS Product Spotlight: Wide Area News

Wide Area News

The Need for Speed…

Consider a traditional news workflow. You send a crew into the field to shoot as much useful footage as they can, and they then rush back to the newsroom to view, write and edit the story, maybe after first waiting for the content to be transferred to your production server. It's labor-intensive, costly and very, very linear. Why are you still working like that?
