Learn more about the operation and maintenance of our complete line of products with a Grass Valley instructor at one of our worldwide training centers. Factory courses provide small student-to-instructor ratios and an immersive experience outside of the student's normal work environment. Training centers are located near major airports for travel convenience, and each training center features dedicated classroom facilities equipped with current Grass Valley products.

GV Korona Operational Training

Audience:
Participants should have a basic knowledge of broadcast facility operations, an understanding of video concepts and previous switcher operation experience.

Prerequisites:
The course is operational and students should have previous operational experience on a switcher of some kind. Operational experience of the product covered is highly desirable.

Objectives:
After completing this 3-day operational training for K-Frame S-series and GV Korona students will understand Grass Valley Production Switcher concepts and how to create productions with high production values using the basic range of features. Note this 3-day course normally excludes iDPM, eDPM, Sub level timelines, IS Movies, ClipStore, Router control, Suites, ME modes. which – are – included in the 5-day Kayenne, Karrera and GV Korona with K-Frame/ K-Frame S-series Operational Training class.

GV STRATUS Technical Factory Training

Audience:
Broadcast engineers, systems technicians and Grass Valley Service staff whose work is to manage and maintain GV STRATUS systems.

Prerequisites:
The course is technical and students should have knowledge of Digital Video standards and a basic understanding of IP Network addressing concepts. To gain maximum benefit from the training, attendees should have a thorough knowledge of Television systems, PC hardware, Microsoft Windows Operating System, basic facility video and network engineering experience. Previous training on K2 Summit technical skills is required.

Objectives:
This 5-day course combines integrated lectures and lab exercises that allow participants to develop knowledge in system configuration, troubleshooting, and network operations. After completing this training, participants will be able to describe the key components of a GV STRATUS system, commission and configure a GV STRATUS system, and to perform diagnostics and troubleshooting.

iControl Operational and Technical Factory Training

Audience:
Broadcast engineers, systems technicians and Grass Valley Service staff whose work is to monitor the over-all status of the broadcast facility using the iControl system.

Prerequisites:
Participants should have a basic knowledge of broadcast facility operations and a clear understanding of TCP/IP.

Objectives:
After completing this training, participants will understand iControl concepts and how iControl is deployed as a solution within their facility. Students will learn to use a variety of different iControl components and, crucially, how to properly maintain an iControl system. They will also learn to use the iControl web interface.

K2 Summit Technical Factory Training

Broadcast engineers, systems technicians and Grass Valley Service staff whose work is to manage and maintain standalone and SAN-based K2 Summit systems.

Prerequisites:
The course is technical and students should have knowledge of Digital Video standards and a basic understanding of IP Network addressing concepts. To gain maximum benefit from the training, attendees should have a thorough knowledge of Television systems, PC hardware, Microsoft Windows Operating System, basic facility video and network engineering experience.

Objectives:
This 5-day course combines integrated lectures and lab exercises that allow participants to develop knowledge in system configuration, troubleshooting, and network operations. After completing this training, participants will be able to describe the K2 Summit system architecture, configure and install software and hardware, and troubleshoot the most common issues.

Kayenne, Karrera, and GV Korona with K-Frame/ K-Frame S-series Technical Training

Audience:
Broadcast engineers, systems technicians and Grass Valley Service staff whose work requires a comprehensive technical and basic operational understanding of the Karrera, GV Korona, Kayenne Video Production Center systems including K-Frame and K-Frame S-series.

Prerequisites:
Participants should have a basic knowledge of video signals, have basic facility video and network engineering experience, and understand video switcher fundamentals. Knowledge of digital video is desired but not required.

Objectives:
After completing this training, participants will be able to describe the system architecture of the Kayenne, Karerra, and GV Korona Frames and Panels, understand differences between Kayenne 1.5G and 3G (K-Frame and K-Frame S-series) systems, set up and fully configure a system, perform basic switcher operations, understand the functions of all modules, troubleshoot a system to module level, know how to interface the Switcher to external devices, capture Diagnostic information, and to load or update software.

Prerequisites:

After completing this training, participants will understand what a Kaleido system is and does; how to create layouts; and how to maintain the system.

LDX86/ LDX86N Technical Factory Training

Prerequisites:
The course is technical and students should have knowledge of Digital Video standards. Prior basic camera experience is mandatory.

Objectives:
This course consists of several "hands on" workshops tailored to suit specific student's level of experience. It covers both software and hardware aspects of complete end-to-end LDX camera systems.

NVISION 8500/ NV9000 Technical Factory Training

Broadcast engineers, systems technicians and Grass Valley Service staff whose work is to manage and maintain NVISION 8500 routers under NV9000 control.

Prerequisites:

The course is technical and students should have knowledge of Digital Video standards, Computer skills, and a good understanding of IP Network addressing concepts. Students should bring a windows laptop for exercises.

Objectives:

After completing this training, participants will understand how to install, configure and maintain a small to medium complexity, standalone NVSIOION 8500/ NV9000 series video/audio system that inclues Hybrid-Embedded Audio and MADI. They will be able to configure, manage & customize control panels, including Level Sets, Device Definitions, Categories, Salvos and Virtual Panels. And, they will gain vital skills for troubleshooting at both the system and board levels.
