Grass Valley’s unified Media Infrastructure brings hardware and software-defined environments together in one operational layer, helping media organizations modernize without compromise
MONTREAL, CANADA – April 15, 2026 – Grass Valley is showcasing its expanded Media Infrastructure capabilities at NAB Show 2026, bringing routing, signal processing and orchestration into a single operational layer that spans hardware and software-defined environments.
Built around the ACE-3901 gateway card, AMPP Orchestration and Grass Valley’s now MXL-native AMPP OS, the approach enables ingest, routing, processing and control to operate in unison across SDI and IP, deployed on-prem, in the cloud or across hybrid environments. The result is an infrastructure foundation designed to support elastic production and modernization without requiring full system replacement.
“Hybrid production is no longer a future model – it is increasingly normal operation, and that raises the bar for infrastructure,” said Adam Marshall, Chief Product Officer at Grass Valley. “Customers need a simpler way to connect legacy systems with modern workflows across baseband, contribution, and cloud-based production, without adding operational complexity. With AMPP OS, ACE-3901 and AMPP Orchestration, Grass Valley is bringing hardware and software workflows together in one operational experience, helping customers modernize at the pace that is right for them while building the foundation for what comes next.”
Central to the updates being shown for the first time in Las Vegas is the ACE-3901-GRID application, which extends high-density connectivity from SDI infrastructure into AMPP OS. With AMPP OS now MXL-native, that creates a more efficient path between dedicated hardware resources and software-defined workflows. Combined with AMPP Orchestration, this creates a seamless and unified control layer across baseband, IP and cloud-connected environments.
The approach is further enhanced by integrations from Grass Valley’s Alliance Partners, who will be demonstrating real-world use cases at the company’s Central Hall booth (C2408).
Connect. Modernize. Scale
Signals are no longer constrained by format or location. What was once a relatively simple local routing environment has evolved, through hybrid and distributed production, into a far broader operational challenge, with signals now moving across baseband, local IP and remote compressed sources. To address that complexity, AMPP Orchestration consolidates multi-format, multi-platform routing into one shared operational environment.
AMPP OS now natively supports NDI 6.3 alongside Dante audio streams, while contribution sources from TVU MediaMesh and participant video streams via Zoom ISOcloud can also be received within the same environment, reducing operational overhead and minimizing the need for additional receiver devices.
For operations built on existing infrastructure, control remains consistent. TSL Hummingbird provides protocol conversion that allows AMPP applications to manage legacy systems alongside software-defined workflows, enabling modernization without replacing established control layers.
Infrastructure capacity can also be dynamically aligned to production demand. LayerCake provisions complete production environments, including AMPP compute instances and routing configurations, as pre-defined templates that can be deployed or collapsed as required. This shifts infrastructure from fixed capacity to an on-demand model, matching the reality of the operation.
Hybrid Production as Standard
Additional AMPP OS updates include NMOS Bridge, which improves device discovery and control in mixed IP environments, integration to GV Orbit for unified orchestration and new Kaleido-IP X Pro enhancements for scalable multi-standard multiviewing.
The result is connected infrastructure where routing, processing and orchestration are presented to the operator as a single system. Signals can move between SDI, IP and cloud environments without intervention, while control and visibility remain consistent across the operation.
Grass Valley will demonstrate these capabilities at NAB Show 2026 as part of its broader Grass Valley Media Universe, showing how infrastructure can revolutionize hybrid production at scale.

For many organizations in broadcast AV, live video was once reserved for occasional moments: the annual town hall, a major financial update, or a flagship event. Today, it appears far more often and plays a direct role in day-to-day operations. Leadership teams utilize it to establish direction and build trust. Communications teams depend on it to engage distributed workforces. Venues and events teams rely on it to shape how audiences experience a brand in real-time. When these moments land, they create important momentum for the business, but when they don’t, the cost is immediate and visible.
One of the biggest changes in this space is how audiences are judging video content differently. Yes, volume has increased, but more importantly, audiences have become used to consuming content on their own terms (live, replayed, clipped, shared), across devices and platforms. Whether it’s an investor briefing, a leadership update, or a live event, audiences now compare these experiences to the best content they see anywhere else, and with the demands for attention today, if a moment isn’t delivered well or captured cleanly, the value fades almost immediately.
That change turns live production from a creative exercise into an operational responsibility. In many organizations, teams can still deliver a strong production once, but far fewer can sustain that level week after week as new formats and platforms emerge and expectations continue to rise. That inconsistency will erode confidence internally and externally, even when individual events appear successful.
Why consistency is a differentiator
When live production is viewed in the prism of a series of one-off projects, systems tend to drift towards workarounds. That might mean bespoke configurations, carefully constructed integrations to handle peak usage, a series of manual steps, or even heroic efforts that go beyond the call of duty. In the short term, this can work, but in the medium-to-long term, those workarounds have a tendency to become the operating model and rarely scale cleanly. As live output increases, these dependencies are harder to manage.
At that point, risk increases and confidence starts to drop, not because teams lack skill, but because the system itself wasn’t designed for repeated use. And what was a production risk suddenly becomes a business risk when reliability and speed cannot be assured from one event to the next. Sustainable scale comes from leverage. It requires production environments that allow teams to reuse what already works and adapt quickly to different scenarios. Simplicity helps, but the overriding goal is to maintain control, both in terms of resources and risk, as well as over how production capability evolves alongside the organization itself, thereby avoiding destabilization of what already works.
What Grass Valley is showing at ISE 2026
At ISE 2026, our focus is on how organizations design live production systems that hold up over time. The conversations are centered on practical challenges that emerge once live video becomes part of everyday operations. Three key themes on our stand (#4Q900) this year include:
Together, these pressures are pushing organizations toward production systems built for reuse and resilience, while remaining dependable as live video becomes embedded across the business. At ISE 2026, we will be engaging teams who are navigating those decisions now, exploring what sustainable live production looks like in practice as live video becomes a permanent part of how they communicate and operate.
Published in the IABM Journal
The world has changed the definition of “production.” For many years, only broadcasters and studios needed to think in camera chains, multiviewers, or live production switching. Today, every company, university, hospital and government body is a media organization in disguise. The stories they tell customers, employees, or citizens, now rely on the same visual language once reserved for professional broadcast.
That shift exposes a fascinating contradiction: the audience expects broadcast quality, but the environments producing it rarely have broadcast resources. Enterprise AV is where this tension plays out. It’s a space where ambition outpaces infrastructure, and where MediaTech has a chance to lead a new creative revolution.
Raising the Segment, Not Lowering the Standard
When an event stream from a corporate stage or a university lecture looks cinematic, no one calls it “enterprise video.” They simply call it good. High-end imaging and fluid production are now baseline expectations across every domain. The question isn’t whether quality matters; it’s whether it’s accessible.
The irony is that the demand for professional results is rising fastest where professional training is rare. The world wants the reliability andaesthetic of live broadcast, delivered by teams that may have never set foot in a control room. That’s the contradiction Grass Valley has spent decades preparing to solve.
Grass Valley’s heritage was built in environments where precision meant everything; live sports, breaking news, entertainment at global scale. Bringing that DNA to the enterprise space isn’t about scaling down; it’s about scaling intelligence. The same principles of timing, image quality and operational resilience now empower organizations that never considered themselves part of the media industry.
AMPP OS makes this translation possible. It takes the depth of broadcast engineering and expresses it through software-defined simplicity. The result is a creative infrastructure that anyone can deploy, but that performs at a professional level. In other words, we’re not descending into a new market… We’re elevating it.
Compute That Adapts to the Moment
Enterprise AV demands agility. One day it’s an internal CEO address, the next a global product launch, the next a hybrid classroom. Static systems can’t justify that variability. With AMPP OS, every compute node can become what’s needed in the moment; a production switcher, a multiviewer, a recorder, or a playout engine.
This shape-shifting capability is more than technical elegance… It’s economic sense. Organizations pay for what they use, when they use it, without locking into hardware footprints that sit idle between events. Whether deployed on-prem, or in the cloud, this elasticity aligns perfectly with enterprise rhythms being unpredictable, fast-moving and cost-sensitive.
Enterprise AV isn’t just about infrastructure; it’s about identity. As communication becomes visual, video turns into a strategic language. Training, marketing, investor relations, crisis response, all rely on real-time storytelling to build trust and clarity. Yet, few enterprise systems were designed with that responsibility in mind.
MediaTech brings discipline to that chaos. It introduces the rigor of timing, the safety of redundancy and the beauty of composition to environments that desperately need them. And when these qualities meet the speed and accessibility of software-defined workflows, something powerful happens: professionalism becomes invisible. The technology disappears; only the story remains.
A Future Without Tiers
There’s a temptation to see this expansion as a new market conquest… “Broadcast enters enterprise.” But the truth is subtler. It’s a convergence. As storytelling becomes universal, the lines between media and enterprise dissolve. Hospitals broadcast training sessions. Universities run multicamera live events. Corporations build in-house studios. What used to be “adjacent markets” are now parallel storytellers on the same continuum.
Grass Valley’s role is to make that continuum seamless, connecting the proven reliability of our hardware with the adaptive intelligence of AMPP OS, all within the open framework of the Grass Valley Media Universe. Scale and sophistication no longer live on opposite ends of the spectrum. Enterprise AV is not a step sideways; it’s a step forward. Both for the industry and for the craft. As the tools of professional media become accessible to all, the visual standard of communication rises everywhere. The result is not dilution, but evolution: an expanded definition of what it means to “go live.”
For Grass Valley, this evolution is both opportunity and obligation. We’ve spent decades refining the tools of professional storytelling. Now, we have the privilege to share them more widely and to help every organization, in any sector, communicate with the clarity and emotion once reserved for broadcast studios.
In the future, there won’t be “broadcast” quality versus “enterprise” quality. There will only be good storytelling. And the technology that enables it. The boundaries between industries are dissolving. The language of media has become universal. And as that convergence unfolds, one thing becomes clear: the world doesn’t need lower standards… It needs broader access to excellence.

Montreal, Canada – July 30, 2024 – Grass Valley, a leader in live production solutions, proudly announces that it has played a transformative role at Bahrain TV, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s premier broadcast news and entertainment network. Grass Valley worked closely with its Diamond Partner in the region, systems integration leader First Gulf Company (FGC), to redesign Bahrain TV’s new highly complex live IP video production environment. As part of the modernization project, Grass Valley and FGC converted Bahrain TV’s master control suite, making it the first broadcast facility in the region to implement an IP playout system.
Considered a trusted source for news and information across Bahrain, Bahrain TV also upgraded its main live news studio with best-in-class IP-capable Grass Valley systems. The UHD news studio now features the latest Kayenne K-Frame switcher, EDIUS X Pro nonlinear editing solution and Sirius 840 576×576 router with integrated mutliviewer capability.
“Grass Valley demonstrated an unwavering commitment to delivering a cutting-edge IP broadcast infrastructure tailored to our evolving needs. In particular, we expect that our modular, scalable Grass Valley IP-based playout system will yield measurable benefits in the years to come,” said Eng. Abdullah Albalooshi, Undersecretary of Technical Affairs at Bahrain TV. “We anticipate significant cost savings by reducing hardware costs associated with traditional broadcast setups. And with our newly streamlined workflow processes and operational efficiencies, we also expect productivity gains by minimizing manual interventions and enabling faster content delivery.”
The IP playout solution features Grass Valley’s IP-capable Masterpiece IP UHD master control system, UCP 3901 video gateways, and a 2 rack-unit MV-821 IP standalone multiviewer, setup for four outputs. The suite also incorporates GV Orbit, configured for the dynamic orchestration of Bahrain TV’s IP broadcast environment
Other tangible benefits Bahrain TV expects to accrue include the ability to scale easily without the need to make high or large capital investments. They also anticipate advertising revenue growth resulting from an improved viewer experience and greater audience engagement.
“We’re very pleased to have actively contributed to this ground-breaking achievement by implementing and commissioning the first IP-based playout system in the region,” says Hany Bartella, Reginal Sales Director at Grass Valley. “The adoption of IP-based live broadcasting by Bahrain TV represents a leap forward in efficiency, scalability and flexibility, while positioning the network as a technological leader in the region.”
