Grass Valley Launches AVORA at IBC2026, Bringing All-in-One Live Production to the Show

New standalone solution gives production teams everything they need to create, produce and deliver live content from one flexible system

MONTREAL, CANADA –September 10, 2026 – Grass Valley today announced AVORA, a new standalone, all-in-one live production solution that brings the tools needed to create and deliver sophisticated live shows together in one streamlined system.

Launching at IBC2026, AVORA gives production teams a complete environment to prepare, produce and deliver live content, from switching and graphics to audio, remote guests, content, replay and delivery. Instead of building a production around multiple separate tools, AVORA brings everything together around the show.

At the heart of AVORA is a simple idea: make professional live production easier to create, operate and repeat. Production resources can be prepared, saved, duplicated and recalled as a complete show, making it easy to move between recurring events, formats and productions without rebuilding the workflow each time. Teams can configure the production around the needs of each show and adapt it as those needs change.

“AVORA answers a very clear market need,” said Jonathan Lyth, Product Director for Live Applications at Grass Valley. “Production teams increasingly need professional capability, operational simplicity and the flexibility to scale around the show. AVORA brings the whole live production together in one system, giving teams a simpler way to create, operate and repeat sophisticated live productions.”

AVORA supports both visual, shot-based production and more traditional program/preset operation, allowing operators to work in the way that best suits the production. Its web-based user experience also enables multiple production roles to work with the same AVORA system from their own browser interfaces where required.

Remote guests can join productions through private invitation links, with low-latency connectivity, mix-minus and talkback built directly into the workflow. Content, graphics and prompting are integrated too, while replay, recording, monitoring, playout and delivery extend AVORA beyond production switching into a complete live production environment.

One system. One show. Everything you need.

AVORA is built on the founding principles and technology of GV AMPP, while operating as a standalone Grass Valley solution. It brings Grass Valley’s software-defined production experience into a self-contained all-in-one system, giving teams the flexibility to configure their production without the complexity of assembling and operating multiple independent tools.

AVORA is designed for a wide range of live productions, including sports, live events, venues, education, corporate and enterprise media, regional production and other repeatable workflows. The same system can be configured for different productions, formats and operating models.

For existing AMPP customers, AVORA also provides an additional option for productions where a standalone, all-in-one system is the right operational fit.

AVORA complements Grass Valley’s wider live production portfolio. K-Frame continues to serve dedicated hardware switching environments, while Maverik X and AMPP address software-defined production at enterprise scale. AVORA adds a standalone all-in-one model for productions where integrated capability, flexibility and simplicity are the priority.

AVORA will be showcased at IBC2026 on the Grass Valley booth, stand 9.A01, and in the IBC Future Tech Zone, stand 14.C49, ahead of commercial availability later this year.

Grass Valley Advances Integrated Live Production for Unified Media Operations at IBC2026

K-Frame and Maverik X innovations extend familiar production control into AMPP, alongside new replay, audio, commentary and communications capabilities

MONTREAL, CANADA – AUGUST 26, 2026 – At IBC2026, Grass Valley will demonstrate an integrated live production environment that brings dedicated hardware, software-based applications and partner technologies together within a unified media operation.

Aligned with Grass Valley’s Dynamic Media Facility strategy, the showcase combines K-Frame, Maverik X, LiveTouch X and new AMPP applications across switching, replay, audio, commentary and communications. Production teams can introduce software-defined capabilities while retaining the control surfaces, workflows and performance they rely on for live production.

“Live production does not leave room for hesitation,” said Greg Huttie, VP Live Production Solutions at Grass Valley. “Operators need immediate control, predictable performance and the confidence to make decisions in the moment. At IBC, we are showing how K-Frame continues to provide that trusted live core, while extending its reach across software-based production, replay, venues and distributed teams.”

Extending Familiar Control into AMPP
K-Frame remains the dedicated production core for demanding live productions, with true suites operation allowing multiple productions to share processing and I/O resources while retaining independent control. At IBC, Grass Valley will demonstrate expanded UltraMatch format conversion, additional programmable outputs and integration with Daktronics LED mapping, supporting broadcast feeds and in-venue displays from the same production. Integration with CUEZ Automate adds automation
for planned and repeatable sequences while operators retain control of editorial decisions.

K-Frame control panels now extend into AMPP, allowing operators to use familiar tactile surfaces and workflows with Maverik X. The software-based production switcher also supports Maverik modular panels, Korona, Stream Deck and Skaarhoj surfaces, giving customers a choice of control options across on-premises, edge and cloud deployments.

New Maverik X capabilities include luma keying, WYSIWYG DVE control and timeline sequence automation. Operators can build and trigger timed actions for opening sequences, transitions and recurring production elements, with sequences able to trigger actions across AMPP and connected Grass Valley Alliance applications.

“Software production should expand what a production team can do, not force it to relearn how to work,” said Jonathan Lyth, Product Director for Live Applications and Enterprise Media at Grass Valley. “By extending familiar control into AMPP and making the user experience customizable, we can reduce technical complexity and give each operator the controls they need for the production in front of them.”

Replay, Audio and Distributed Production
LiveTouch X enhancements extend sports replay within the same production environment. New multi-camera controls support angle selection and switching during highlights, alongside expanded audio monitoring, faster navigation and clearer on-air feedback. Direct integration with Grass Valley’s triple-speed LDX cameras connects acquisition and replay, while Production Replay X brings replay, clip playback and highlight creation into AMPP for hybrid and distributed productions.

Calrec ImPulseV brings broadcast audio control into the AMPP environment, connecting virtualized DSP and familiar operator surfaces with the wider production workflow. Grass Valley and partner technologies can operate within the same environment, with Zoom ISOcloud bringing remote participants into AMPP as individual production sources, NDI expanding connectivity, and MXMZ and Flowics providing graphics integration.

Grass Valley will also introduce AMPP Commentator, a browser-based application for professional commentary from venues, remote locations or temporary production setups. Commentators can receive program video and audio, manage monitoring, microphone and talkback, and return broadcast-quality audio directly into AMPP.

The newly released Audio Cart application further provides playout of music, stings, audience effects and other short-form audio elements used during live production.

AMPP Intercom, announced at NAB 2026, extends production communications across facilities and remote locations. It can operate independently or connect with existing facility intercom environments, keeping communications between operators and contributors within the same distributed production architecture.

Extending the Production Environment
The same production foundation supports Broadcast AV and Enterprise Media applications through Event Producer X and Framelight X. Event Producer X provides a streamlined production environment for town halls, leadership communications and corporate events, with interfaces that can be tailored to the operator and production. Framelight X connects live output with media management, browser-based editing, review and distribution.

LayerCake provides the infrastructure, AMPP applications and resources required for each production, while Slide Relay integrates PowerPoint presentation control and contribution. Together, these capabilities allow organizations to simplify operation for less-specialist users while retaining access to the production and content tools required for professional output.

Grass Valley’s IBC showcase demonstrates how Dynamic Media Facility principles can be applied across live production, connecting established hardware, software-defined applications and partner technologies without requiring production teams to abandon familiar ways of working. Customers can select and deploy resources according to each production while extending existing workflows across facilities, remote locations and software-based environments.

“Hybrid production is not about choosing hardware or software,” added Lyth. “It is about bringing the right resources together for each production and making them simple for people to operate. That is how AMPP helps customers unify media operations while putting the principles of the Dynamic Media Facility into practice today.”

Visitors can experience Grass Valley’s integrated live production portfolio at Booth 9.A01 during IBC2026, September 11–14, at RAI Amsterdam.

Leading the Media Revolution in Live Production

Grass Valley Showcases Breakthroughs in Live Production at IBC 2025 From Cinematic Cameras to Next-Generation Replay Workflows

MONTREAL, CANADA – August 26, 2025 – Grass Valley, the pioneering media and entertainment technology innovator, is bringing a comprehensive lineup of live production solutions to IBC 2025, including a brand-new addition to the LDX 100 Series camera range and a next-generation integrated replay solution that transforms the speed of engaging live storytelling.

Game-Changing Cinematic Storytelling

Following the successful debut of the flagship Large-Imager LDX 180 at NAB earlier this year, Grass Valley will unveil the new LDX C180 compact version on its booth in Amsterdam (9.A01). Engineered for Steadicam and PTZ freedom, the LDX C180 brings a cinematic edge to live production, helping creators captivate audiences with more dramatic stories.

“The LDX C180 is a game changer for productions looking to blend cinematic artistry with the immediacy of live coverage,” says Paul de Bresser, Product Manager for Cameras at Grass Valley. “Maintaining all of the purpose-built features of the flagship LDX 180, the LDX C180’s form-factor allows creative teams to capture moments with a new level of drama, intimacy, and impact.”

Featuring the same in-house-developed 10K Super 35 Xenios imager as its full sized sibling LDX 180, the new compact offering captures true cinematic depth-of-field while being purpose-built for the fast-paced realities of live production environments. Both the LDX 180 and LDX C180 make their European debut at IBC 2025, offering media companies the ability to completely redefine storytelling while delivering native UHD output with unparalleled visual richness.

At IBC, Grass Valley is unveiling new innovations across the full LDX 100 Series. The LDX 110 Series gains a new UHD/HDR option, while every model in the LDX 100 Series now supports RF and 5G solutions through partner Vislink, respectively enabling cable-less roaming and direct low-latency contribution into AMPP OS. A new ND filter configuration gives shaders precise 1 F-stop exposure control for flawless HDR and SDR results under all conditions. An optional Optical Low-Pass Filter minimizes interference from the likes of coarse LED walls while preserving detail, contrast and vibrancy, allowing customers to invest in cutting-edge imaging today and upgrade their wider facilities at their own pace.

Also being showcased is a new 12G-SDI XCU Cradle for installations requiring dedicated 12G outputs instead of hybrid/IP. Together, these updates mark a major leap forward in camera performance and workflow flexibility.

Next-Generation Production Replay

Grass Valley’s new Production Replay solution will make its debut in Amsterdam, bringing together the company’s rich heritage in replay with the power of AMPP OS, its software-defined platform. Production Replay X enables operators to take in multi-camera inputs, quickly mark in/out points, and deliver instant replays and playlists with the responsiveness expected in live sports and entertainment.

A standout feature is its native integration with Framelight X, Grass Valley’s leading Media and Production Asset Management solution. As content is ingested in Production Replay X, it is immediately available for growing file editing, highlight creation, and fast-turnaround publishing; without media movement or delay and wherever creative talents may be located. Users can then access and play back content both within Production Replay X itself, or send it directly to Playout X for linear transmission or digital distribution.

“With Production Replay X natively integrated into Framelight X, we’re collapsing the gap between capture and content delivery,” says Trevor Sword, Senior Product Manager for Live Applications at Grass Valley. “Replay operators and producers gain the agility to create highlights, edit, and publish at lightning speed, all within a unified workflow that reduces complexity and accelerates content to air.”

K-Frame VXP Now Shipping

IBC 2025 also marks the European launch of the K-Frame VXP, a sub-compact addition to Grass Valley’s acclaimed K-Frame XP switcher lineup. Delivering the same advanced features of its larger counterparts – including native 12G support and internal HDR(HLG) <> SDR color mapping – the K-Frame VXP offers a robust 48×24 IO footprint, ideal for productions requiring high-end capability in a smaller package.

On show with the K-Frame VXP will be the new 3-stripe Karrera control panel, with a 2-stripe configuration also available. Positioned as a mid-sized option, the Karrera panels complete Grass Valley’s control surface family – sitting alongside the enterprise-level Kayenne panel and the compact Korona panel – all fully supported by VXP and the wider K-Frame switcher offerings, giving productions of all sizes and budgets the flexibility to access top-tier switcher performance.

Live Production Tools: Compact Power, High End Performance

Grass Valley will also showcase advancements and expansions to AMPP Automation, first announced at NAB 2025, which uniquely enables operators to control and automate production environments wherever they are located – whether on-premises, in the cloud, or across hybrid workflows. No matter where the operator is, AMPP Automation delivers consistent, instant and unified control for live production teams.

At IBC 2025, Grass Valley will also introduce the new Ignite Protocol Core to AMPP Automation, providing instant access to more than 60 additional control integrations for third party on-premises control. With this newly expanded device control set, AMPP Automation is rapidly evolving to support news and media productions at scale, further illustrating how AMPP is bridging the gap between traditional and software-defined workflows while driving new levels of integration and efficiency across the production chain.

Redefining Live Production, End-to-End

There is so much more to see at the show – Grass Valley invites you to experience how it is pushing the boundaries of live event production and leading the media revolution at Booth 9.A01, Hall 9, at IBC 2025, RAI Amsterdam Convention Center, September 12-15.

MONTREAL, CANADA – January 28, 2025 – Grass Valley, the market leader in innovative live production solutions, is bringing more than 65 years of media and entertainment technology leadership to ISE for the first time to showcase a range of cutting-edge solutions for the live events, corporate, and education sectors.

Visitors to the Grass Valley stand in Barcelona will be able to experience a suite of high-end, yet cost-effective technology from the GV Media Universe that is being utilized by organizations such as Gfinity, Electronic Arts Competitive Gaming Entertainment, and Corrivium to empower productions of all sizes and scales.

Switching to Multiview

Grass Valley’s renowned switcher portfolio covers a wide variety of applications. Live Producer X is designed to offer live events productions the same high-end features as a traditional live production switcher, but with a much simpler operational paradigm. It aims to put the power of storytelling in the hands of creatives and producers without requiring formal switcher training. Users are able to organize a show into a series of layouts, scenes and shots, and configure looks in advance to help with templating and repeatability.

Sport Producer X is a newly released solution on the AMPP operating system that combines switching, replay, graphics, audio production, and multiviewers into a single intuitive interface. It is designed for small to mid-tier live productions, making it suitable for corporate and education applications, and offers single-seat production interface, comprehensive workflow integration, and flexible deployment.

The Kaleido-IP Video Multiviewer, recently deployed with France Televisions, offers the most simultaneous video and audio program decodes in the industry, including SMPTE ST 2110 suite, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 part 2 (H.263) and part 10 (H.264/AVC), H.265/HEVC, HE-AAC v1 & v2, AAC, DD 2.0, DD 5.1 and DD+. The Kaleido-IP VM version offers all the benefits of virtualization in an easy to deploy virtual image (OVA file) for scalable, space-saving and easy-to-manage installations.

Instant Replay and High-speed Editing
Also being demonstrated is the LiveTouch X; the first replay solution to enable creatives to collaborate on live video production from any location. An AMPP solution, LiveTouch X is a SaaS application that allows operators to work remotely through any device with a browser connected over public or private internet. It covers all the fundamentals for live video production, enabling operators to intuitively select multiple ingest and playout channels and perform highlights editing in the cloud or on-prem. LiveTouch X supports all common replay functionality, including variable speed playback, shuttle, trim, page, bank, slot and playlist creation.

EDIUS is a robust high-speed video editing solution used by broadcast facilities and news agencies, government institutions, corporate productions, independent filmmakers, video creators and video enthusiasts. The latest version, EDIUS 11, comes with new features to make editing more efficient and expressive, and works with Grass Valley’s Chorus Hub 11 Server system to enable group collaboration of EDIUS projects. It is available in a variety of configurations, including EDIUS 11 Pro Education  and EDIUS 11 Workgroup.

“We’re bringing our media production expertise to ISE 2025 to showcase how our AMPP platform and GV Media Universe solutions are revolutionizing production capabilities for organizations across the media landscape,” said Adam Marshall, Grass Valley’s Chief Product Officer. “Whether in live events, sports, houses of worship, corporate, or education sectors, delegates will learn how our cutting-edge solutions are empowering the future of media production in an agile, simple, and affordable way.”

Grass Valley will be showcasing all of these solutions on stand 4P660 at ISE 2025, February 4th-7th, at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via.

DMC Revolutionizes Sports Production with Grass Valley AMPP

Montreal, Canada – July 23, 2024 – Grass Valley, a leader in live production solutions, announced today that DMC Production has successfully implemented an innovative remote production workflow using Grass Valley AMPP for the Nordea Open tennis tournament. This new approach has revolutionized sports broadcasting, delivering significant improvements in efficiency, cost reduction, and environmental sustainability.

A New Era of Remote Production

DMC has refined its production workflow by processing all signals on-site, a substantial shift from the previous method of transporting signals to an off-site location for processing. Utilizing six Grass Valley LDX 98 cameras, LiveTouch X replay systems, Audiomix X audiomixer and a Maverik X production switcher running on the AMPP platform, this streamlined approach ensures a simplified and cost-effective operation. Last year, we carried all the signals from the venue to Oslo for processing, which required significant bandwidth and logistical effort,” explained Johan Hedblom, MD – DMC Sweden. “This year, by processing everything on-site using AMPP, we only need to carry a single world feed signal out from the venue. This not only reduces bandwidth requirements but also simplifies the overall setup.”

Enhanced Workflow and Efficiency

The new workflow has drastically reduced the need for on-site personnel and equipment. Only six crew members, including four cameramen, an assistant engineer, and a broadcast coordinator, are required at the venue. Camera control and shading are managed remotely from Norway, while the director, sound engineer and replay operator work from DMC’s facilities in Stockholm. For the world feed, ATP-Media are adding international commentary and graphics via London. Adam Marshall, CPO at Grass Valley, commented, “We are thrilled to see DMC leveraging our AMPP solution to push the boundaries of what’s possible in remote production. This setup not only showcases the flexibility and power of AMPP but also aligns with our commitment to providing sustainable and cost-effective broadcasting solutions.”

Environmental and Cost Benefits

The environmental and economic benefits of this new approach are significant. By reducing the number of personnel on-site and minimizing the transportation of equipment, DMC has significantly cut down on travel and accommodation expenses. This method also reduces the environmental footprint of the production, aligning with broader industry goals for sustainability.

Feedback and Future Implementations

The crew’s feedback from the Nordea Open has been overwhelmingly positive, noting the ease of setup and management compared to previous years. This successful implementation sets a new standard for future events, including the upcoming CEV Eurobeach Volley in the Netherlands from August 13-18 where the AMPP solution will produce one court, the Swedish Championship in Padel and the PBA Bowling Tournament in Sweden on September 1. “The difference this year is remarkable,” added Johan Hedblom from DMC. “The reduced need for high-bandwidth connectivity and the simplified logistics have not only made the production process much smoother, but also more cost-effective. This new approach is enabling DMC to have a new revenue stream by undertaking events like the Padel and the Bowling for the first time. We are eager to apply these learnings to other events and continue improving our workflows.”
