The new Zoom integration will empower AMPP customers to directly bring in remote Zoom guests as isolated video and audio sources into their Grass Valley production environment. In addition, media streams routed inside AMPP can be returned to Zoom for playout as a return feed for audience distribution or as a confidence monitor.
This advancement in Zoom’s remote contribution technology leverages the new Media eXchange Layer (MXL) protocol, a high-performance data plane designed to simplify and accelerate communication between distributed media functions. Zoom is also implementing a flexible containerization architecture to scale across multiple Zoom meetings simultaneously, dramatically expanding the possibilities of signal routing between remote locations via Zoom.
These innovations will be released in Zoom’s upcoming ZoomISO Cloud product, which is expected to be available in the AMPP Marketplace later this year. As a remote contribution solution built natively for cloud-based media systems, this new product builds on ZoomISO’s ‘s powerful media engine for processing remote Zoom signals and conforms them to broadcast standard protocols including MXL, NDI, and SRT for seamless integration into live production environments. ZoomISO Cloud will be licensed as part of the Zoom Webinars and Events platform
