NAB Show 2024: Grass Valley Showcases Next-Generation T3 Series 4K/HD Digital Recording and Playback for Venues and Stadiums

MONTREAL, CANADA – April 16, 2024 – Grass Valley, a leading innovator for live production solutions, showcases its new T3 Series 4K/HD standalone player / recorder at NAB Show 2024.

Grass Valley's T3 is a powerful all-in-one system that integrates recording, playback, transcoding and more into one device. Operated as a standalone unit, simplifying setup and operation, and contributing to overall production efficiency, the T3 can be easily integrated into larger production environments with support for a wide range of control protocols.

The T3 enables simultaneous recording and playback of up to two channels of 4K video, or up to three channels of HD. Its ruggedized construction, internal support for and conversion of multiple codecs, and its intuitive user interface make it ideal for the demands of on-location live event production.

As the next generation of Grass Valley’s standalone T2 4K Series digital recorder/player, the T3 greatly expands upon its predecessor’s multichannel 4K and HD performance and capabilities. Its tight integration with Grass Valley’s EDIUS makes editing in numerous file formats quick and easy, including support for recording editing and exporting growing files.

“The T3 solves the industry’s pressing operational business challenge for standalone, multi-channel 4K and HD recording and playback without restrictions with reliability at its core,” said Akio Inoue, Product Manager, Editing Systems, for Grass Valley. “The T3 has been designed from the outset to be reliable, easy to use and versatile, it offers users quick standalone operations and superior performance.”

Leveraging an improved hosting platform, the T3 offers a more compact chassis resulting in a 20-percent reduction in rack depth compared to its predecessor. It also supports optional GPU acceleration for further channel and format flexibility and customization.

What sets the T3 apart from the alternative offerings on the market is the exceptional range of natively supported recording, playback and networking formats.

. These include:

  • SDI and NDI Inputs and Outputs.
  • AMP, VDCP, BVW, GPIO, Timecode chasing and more for remote control.
  • 4K recording formats, such as Grass Valley HQX (MXF, AVI), Apple ProRes (MXF) and Avid DNxHR (MXF).
