Grass Valley at IBC 2022: A journey

After two years without a show, Grass Valley was really looking forward to IBC 2022 – the perfect venue for meeting the industry and for showcasing the latest and greatest since we last met.

The Grass Valley stand (in reality, the entire hall!) was proof that Grass Valley has not been standing still.

It showcased a journey.

A journey that took its visitors through new development across the entire media production chain, presenting all the different components where Grass Valley can support them: from cameras and hardware to end-to-end cloud solutions.

A journey that emphasizes how Grass Valley technology increases flexibility, reliability, and security, so our customers can create and deliver compelling live experiences however and wherever they need at the highest possible quality.

Flexibility is key

On-premise equipment, hybrid, and cloud environments are all important to live producers and to Grass Valley. The variety and elasticity of solutions allows for tailored setups to meet a wide range of everchanging needs.

During IBC, Grass Valley demonstrated the benefits of cloud-computing that AMPP offers. AMPP – agile media production and distribution platform – helps content producers to deploy a cloud-based business model that best meets their operational and business needs now and in the future.

Used on-air today by major broadcasters as a trusted choice, AMPP supports production workflows that include everything from contribution to commentary, intercom, and graphics. To demonstrate AMPP’s purpose to support open industry innovation, part of Grass Valley’s booth at IBC was dedicated to showcasing solutions integrated with AMPP developed by Grass Valley Alliance members that provide amplified features and alternative on-roads to AMPP from other industry vendors.

Press conference at IBC

Grass Valley held a press conference right before the official start of IBC where Andrew Cross, CEO of Grass Valley, highlighted the many new product introductions at IBC across all product lines as well as reinforced Grass Valley’s commitment to continue to deliver the best hardware and software products that we’re renowned for.

Daniel Url, Chief Product Officer explained that AMPP is evolving at an amazing rate and that its capabilities continue to expand along with its customer base.

To make this point, the press conference ended with an exciting demo of AMPP being used to create a live production using video streaming from a mobile phone.

For six decades, Grass Valley has continued to earn the trust of the world’s top media makers by leading the innovation of broadcast hardware and software.

Creating the future of media production is our journey, and it is far from over.
