A conversation with Raoul Roy, Senior Product Marketing Manager at qibb, and Matt Yates, Director for Strategic Alliances at Grass Valley

Matt: Raoul, it’s great to have qibb joining us on the Grass Valley booth at IBC this year. Broadcasters are looking for ways to cut down on manual integration work, go-live quicker and trial new tools and that’s exactly what this partnership delivers.

Raoul: Absolutely, Matt. At qibb, our goal is to connect all those moving parts: traffic systems, playout, MAMs, delivery accelerators, AI tools … and take the bespoke work out of the equation. When you combine that flexibility with AMPP, you get a really powerful end-to-end environment. Customers can experiment and adjust easily, using our low-code platform, knowing they don’t need coding expertise to reconfigure the workflow if required.

Matt: Let’s talk about the first workflow we’ll be showing: schedule import. Traditionally, exporting schedules into a playout system is fiddly and prone to mistakes, requiring custom code to be written.

Raoul: Exactly. qibb detects the schedule as soon as it’s finalized in scheduling systems like BTS or Mediagenix, reformats it automatically, and sends it straight into Playout X on AMPP. It’s seamless. And because error handling and retries are built in, teams don’t have to worry about missed files.

Matt: Which means the playout operator sees a ready-to-go schedule inside AMPP without touching anything manually. And they can have the integration up and running in hours, which is a huge time saver.

Raoul: The second use case is social publishing, something almost every broadcaster is under pressure to accelerate.

Matt: Right. Framelight X on AMPP already manages the media, and with qibb linking it to Ayrshare, that same content can be published directly to multiple social platforms in one step.

Raoul: Metadata stays with the file, formats are adjusted automatically, and the content is live on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube in minutes instead of hours. Social media companies make regular changes to their APIs and it’s difficult to keep track of 13 separate social media platforms as a vendor. Qibb and Aryshare take that hassle away.

Matt: And then there’s the third piece: file delivery. Every broadcaster I speak with struggles to get large media files moved quickly and reliably.

Raoul: That’s where qibb comes in again, orchestrating transfers from Framelight X to accelerators like Signiant, Aspera, or MASV. The workflow just runs in the background: status updates, retries, the whole lot. Production teams don’t have to babysit transfers anymore, nor manually operate separate tools

Matt: When you put these together—scheduling, social, file delivery—you can see how qibb and AMPP complement each other. It’s integration and automation built on a scalable cloud-native, low code platform, designed for real-world broadcast operations.

Raoul: And importantly, broadcasters don’t have to rip and replace what they’ve got. We’re just making existing tools work better together. And we’ve got more integrations beyond the ones we’ve spoken about. You can have a whole library of choice.

Matt: If you’re at IBC, stop by the Grass Valley booth [9.A01] to see how these joint workflows with qibb come to life, and how they can be adapted to your own environment.

Raoul: And if you’d like to go deeper, you can also book a one-on-one demo with us to explore the details.
