Built around the ACE-3901 gateway card, AMPP Orchestration and Grass Valley’s now MXL-native AMPP OS, the approach enables ingest, routing, processing and control to operate in unison across SDI and IP, deployed on-prem, in the cloud or across hybrid environments. The result is an infrastructure foundation designed to support elastic production and modernization without requiring full system replacement.

Central to the updates being shown for the first time in Las Vegas is the ACE-3901-GRID application, which extends high-density connectivity from SDI infrastructure into AMPP OS. With AMPP OS now MXL-native, that creates a more efficient path between dedicated hardware resources and software-defined workflows. Combined with AMPP Orchestration, this creates a seamless and unified control layer across baseband, IP and cloud-connected environments.
The approach is further enhanced by integrations from Grass Valley’s Alliance Partners, who will be demonstrating real-world use cases at the company’s Central Hall booth (C2408).
Connect. Modernize. Scale
Signals are no longer constrained by format or location. What was once a relatively simple local routing environment has evolved, through hybrid and distributed production, into a far broader operational challenge, with signals now moving across baseband, local IP and remote compressed sources. To address that complexity, AMPP Orchestration consolidates multi-format, multi-platform routing into one shared operational environment.
AMPP OS now natively supports NDI 6.3 alongside Dante audio streams, while contribution sources from TVU MediaMesh and participant video streams via Zoom ISOcloud can also be received within the same environment, reducing operational overhead and minimizing the need for additional receiver devices.
For operations built on existing infrastructure, control remains consistent. TSL Hummingbird provides protocol conversion that allows AMPP applications to manage legacy systems alongside software-defined workflows, enabling modernization without replacing established control layers.
Infrastructure capacity can also be dynamically aligned to production demand. LayerCake provisions complete production environments, including AMPP compute instances and routing configurations, as pre-defined templates that can be deployed or collapsed as required. This shifts infrastructure from fixed capacity to an on-demand model, matching the reality of the operation.
Hybrid Production as Standard
Additional AMPP OS updates include NMOS Bridge, which improves device discovery and control in mixed IP environments, integration to GV Orbit for unified orchestration and new Kaleido-IP X Pro enhancements for scalable multi-standard multiviewing.
The result is connected infrastructure where routing, processing and orchestration are presented to the operator as a single system. Signals can move between SDI, IP and cloud environments without intervention, while control and visibility remain consistent across the operation.

Leading European outside broadcast specialist TVM carries out major refurbishment of OB3 truck with Grass Valley Sirius 800 SDI Router
MONTREAL, CANADA – January 27, 2026 – Grass Valley has announced that Television Mobiles Ltd. (TVM), one of Europe’s leading independent outside broadcast providers, has carried out a major refurbishment of its mid-sized OB3 unit, with Grass Valley’s Sirius 800 SDI Router at the heart of its routing backbone. The investment supports TVM’s continued focus on reliable, high-capacity SDI workflows for live sports and events and remodels the truck’s core routing infrastructure.
Headquartered in Ireland, TVM delivers outside broadcast services across a broad production portfolio, including domestic coverage of GAA (hurling and Gaelic football), English Premier League football and major international events such as the Paris 2024 Olympics, where the company’s fleet supported the swimming coverage.
The OB3 refurbishment required a complete rebuild of the truck, central to which was a full routing upgrade. TVM sought a modern SDI platform that would support existing operational workflows while fitting within the physical constraints of a compact but high-capacity OB unit. With established reliability, flexibility and high performance in fast-turnaround environments, the Sirius 800 SDI was identified as the ideal solution.
“We took OB3 off the road for a full rebuild, a key component of which was installing a new routing system that was robust, simple to service, and aligned with our established SDI workflows,” said Bart Arnold, Managing Director at TVM. “The Sirius 800 SDI met all of our requirements. Grass Valley delivered on schedule, and their support throughout the installation allowed us to get the truck back on the road in time for the start of the GAA Club Championship season for TG4.”
The Sirius 800 SDI serves as the central routing backbone for OB3, providing a stable SDI infrastructure that integrates seamlessly with TVM’s existing Grass Valley equipment. The compact footprint of the truck required detailed planning to ensure the router and associated cabling could be integrated efficiently, with Grass Valley and TVM working together to finalize layout, commissioning and testing within a compressed delivery window. Despite the challenges, the truck successfully returned to service on schedule for TG4’s football coverage at the start of the GAA season.

Ekattor TV Adopts AMPP in Region’s First Step Toward Cloud-Native Broadcast
MONTREAL, CANADA – September 30, 2025 – Grass Valley, the leading provider of end-to-end live media production solutions, announced today a significant technology upgrade at Ekattor TV, one of Bangladesh’s most prominent and pioneering broadcasters. The project marks a major step forward for the company as it modernizes its facility with one of the first deployments of Grass Valley AMPP in the region.
Ekattor TV, Bangladesh’s first full HD news channel, has consistently prioritized both editorial quality and technical progress since its launch in 2012. This upgrade reflects a practical step forward, giving the station the tools to manage modern production needs more effectively.
The project, which is currently in the rollout phase, is scheduled for completion later this year. It includes a complete Grass Valley workflow designed to optimize efficiency from image capture to playout, while delivering greater flexibility, cost-efficiency, and integration capabilities.
The deployment includes six LDX Series cameras designed for high-performance image capture in both news and program studios, along with Masterpiece Master Control Switchers that ensure resilient and precise control room operations. K-Frame VXP and V Series Production Switchers are dedicated respectively to news and program production, while the Sirius 830 Hybrid Router provides reliable instant routing, rich audio mux/demux, frame synchronization and multiviewing capabilities to streamline operations and reduce costs. Additionally, the upgrade incorporates Playout X and Framelight X, both powered by AMPP OS, delivering elastic solutions for linear and live media distribution as well as advanced media asset management to support flexible content workflows.
The upgrade was successfully executed with the collaboration of Bangladesh Broadcast Systems, a reputable System Integrator in the region. Songram Abdur Rouf, Head of Broadcast Operations & Engineering of Ekattor, was the driving force behind the project. His deep technical acumen and forward-thinking vision were instrumental in bringing it to completion.

Networking Reinvented
At the heart of Grass Valley’s networking products is the brand new ACE-3901 card, a powerful Software-Defined Agile Compute Engine for the Densité Modular platform. ACE-3901 transforms legacy infrastructure into a modern, hybrid-ready environment. With up to 32× 12G-SDI or 64× 3G-SDI per card and 400 Gb/s fabric bandwidth, it delivers high density, ultra-low latency signal processing in a compact form factor.
For existing SDI facilities, the ACE-3901 provides an on-ramp to ST2110 with the ACE-3901-IO application with the highest density in the marketplace. The ACE-3901-GRID application goes even further by integrating its high performance FPGA based resources directly into AMPP– augmenting server resources with the ACE-3901 cards, seamlessly blending the best of both worlds, and supporting up to 192 inputs and outputs per 4RU frame to be connected to both single node and multi-node AMPP GRID clusters.
ACE-3901 naturally provides built-in auto-discovery and telemetry through the GV Orbit orchestration platform to ensure faster, smarter, and more resilient routing decisions.

MONTREAL, CANADA – March 25, 2025 – Grass Valley and F&F Productions have announced an expansion of their partnership that will see a suite of Grass Valley solutions deployed on F&F’s latest 2110 IP 4K remote production truck, the GTX-21. The new GTX-21 (A, B and C Units) follows on from the GTX-20 as F&F’s second 2110 IP truck and will feature cutting-edge Grass Valley technology including a Kayenne Switcher, GV Orbit orchestration platform, GV Routing, and KIP-X240 Multiviewers. Grass Valley is also supplying a large Cisco IP Spine and Leaf Core as part of the build.
F&F Productions is a leading provider of high definition and 4K remote production facilities for premier sporting and entertainment events across North America. Its signature GTX series fleet has delivered live network coverage for major events such as the Super Bowl, U.S. Open Tennis, the World Series, Stanley Cup Finals, NCAA Men’s Final Four, The Masters, The Kentucky Derby, and NASCAR.
The two companies have a long-standing relationship, with Grass Valley solutions forming a core part of F&F’s existing mobile units. That relationship was expanded for the build of the GTX-20, F&F’s first 2110 IP truck, laying the ground for the current collaboration taking place on the GTX-21, which will be the most advanced 2110 IP production vehicle on the market.

The GTX-21 is being designed to produce the largest sports and entertainment shows across North America. The deal was finalized in December 2024 with the GTX-21 A, B, and C Units now in the build phase. Grass Valley’s engineers are working together with F&F’s team on delivering the new truck, with expected completion later this year.

A range of multistandard, scalable routers that ensure a high level of reliability thanks to various integrated redundancies. These routers are capable of managing multiple signal processes internally, offering numerous outputs for multiviewers and various remote monitoring options, including alarm monitoring. Additionally, they benefit from the high level of support provided by Video Progetti.
The heart of every audio-video production system is the router, which, in any case, represents the most critical element due to the central and fundamental functions it performs in a production facility, regardless of its size or level. Therefore, robustness, reliability, and operational flexibility are key factors for these types of products, both to facilitate broadcast operations and ensure service continuity.
Grass Valley boasts extensive know-how in the router domain, thanks to the technologies of various acquired brands or subsidiaries over the years, such as Miranda, Quantel, Snell & Wilcox, SAM, and ProBel.

Grass Valley currently offers two families of routers: Vega and Sirius.
The first is dedicated to small and medium-sized applications. The Sirius 800 series (available in three different models: Sirius 830, Sirius 840, and Sirius 850) is aimed at mid-to-high-profile systems.
This is a tailor-made range offering advanced technological features, great flexibility, and reliability, making it highly favored by system integrators (who can easily integrate it into complex systems and meet clients’ specific requirements) and technical directors (who appreciate its high reliability). Additionally, it can be adapted to the needs of any production setup, with easy and quick adjustments.
The Sirius router series from Grass Valley supports all major audio and video standards, such as SDI, AES, MADI, 12G-SDI, etc., and supports both FHD and UHD signals. It is also designed for hybrid configurations, integrating IP modules in SMPTE 2110 and 2022 standards.
The implementation of Advanced Hybrid Processing (AHP) enables many complex tasks within the same rack, without needing additional external modules. This simplifies cabling and reduces space requirements. These tasks include audio processing, frame synchronization, video and audio delay compensation, and conversions.
In terms of flexibility, the Sirius 800 series is available in different configurations, with port options ranging from 288×288 to 1152×1152, allowing for great scalability to meet the demands of various applications.
In summary, the Sirius series presents itself as a powerful, reliable, and versatile routing solution, capable of handling a wide variety of formats and offering the most advanced signal processing functionalities.
We had the opportunity to discuss further details about the Sirius 850 model, the top-tier model of the Sirius range, which was available at Video Progetti’s headquarters for configuration before delivery.

First, can you introduce the Grass Valley router range?
Certainly. Grass Valley offers two router product lines. One is the Vega series, which is an intermediate solution ranging from 96 ports up to 432 ports. When I refer to “ports” in this context, I mean bi-directional BNCs. So, on a 96-port router, you could have 95 inputs and one output, or any other in-between configuration. On the other hand, the Sirius 800 series is a more high-end solution, with three models.

All routers allow at least to host two multiviewer cards to be inserted into dedicated slots, or as alternative there are MV 831/841/851 cards available, which can replace input/output cards, increasing the number of multiviewers.
What other important features should be highlighted?
The Sirius series encompasses many features that make it the heart of the infrastructure. We have cards that integrate AHP (Advanced Hybrid Processing), which provides embedding, de-embedding, frame sync, line sync, mixing, shuffling, and supports all video formats, from SDI to 12G, and audio formats such as MADI or AES, or a mix of both. Another important feature is that the audio matrix is treated as a mono matrix, with an equivalent size of 18,432 x 18,432. Audio is handled transparently, accepting non-synchronous audio relative to the station’s reference. There’s also the ability to perform sample-rate conversion at the audio card output. Additionally, with four reference signals, the router can manage formats with different frame rates, allowing different references to be assigned to different destinations.
Beyond the previously mentioned formats, the router also supports ASI signals, passing them through without any processing.
The Sirius has two unique features for this class of routers: a PC installed on the front panel, which provides real-time status monitoring of the router. This is essentially a virtual panel useful to allow on-the-fly switching. Another interesting feature is the multicolor LEDs integrated into the BNC crowns, which illuminate in different colors depending on the type of signal, frame rate, or whether the audio is embedded.
This is a useful refinement because it allows operators to quickly identify the presence of signals and, when maintenance is needed on a cable or BNC, the LED color helps pinpoint the connector that needs attention.
In which type of system is the GV Sirius series ideal, and what makes it particularly competitive?
As I mentioned, thanks to AHP technology, you can centralize performances in a single rack that were previously delegated to external modules, such as frame sync or line sync. So, there’s no need for external frames to handle these processes. The same applies to embedding and de-embedding tasks.
For audio mixing, up to 16 onboard audio mixers are available, allowing track mixing. You can control both video and audio delay, which is useful for compensating for lip-sync issues on external feeds. This is particularly helpful in virtual production scenarios, like in sports broadcasts, where you may need to add graphics and introduce delay on the video without using extra devices.
The multiviewer feature is also significant. The largest router can support up to 168 multiviewer outputs. It’s important to note that the multiviewer card does not reduce the number of available outputs, as it uses dedicated BNC ports for the multiviewer signals. There are 48 HD-BNCs dedicated to outputting the signals destined for the multiviewer layouts, meaning you can centralize almost all required processes without impacting available outputs.
Speaking about IP evolution, how can we migrate to this new technology?
There are cards available that support IP signals, which are very useful during this technological transition, helping to maximize the investment.
With multiformat operation and multiviewer capabilities, the Sirius 800 series can be integrated standalone into a structure or as part of a distributed routing system, with connections to studio routers and playout. Flexible configuration and control options simplify both setups.
So, a real hybrid system?
Yes, exactly. You can have a card that supports SDI, ASI, and even IP signals, such as SMPTE ST 2022, for connecting to encoders, as we did with a solution we’ve already installed. The router is completely hot-swappable. You can insert frames or processes as needed without interrupting service continuity. This is a very important feature, especially for routers that are nearly always in operation.
Let’s also talk about redundancy and service reliability.
This is certainly an important point, especially for “Mission Critical” routers, which are constantly in operation. Everything “core” in the router is redundant. Two controllers are implemented. Both fan controllers and alarm controllers are redundant. Of course, the power supply and the crosspoint cards, the most crucial components, are also redundant. The power supplies are 48V DC, directly powering the frames, and all adjustments are made at the card level. There are no regulators inside the frame that could affect functionality in the event of a failure.
How about alarm visualization?
There are multiple ways to present alarms. Firstly, through the front PC, which has synoptic views that can be quickly assessed and drilled into. For example, if an alarm appears for a card, just tapping the touchscreen shows which fan is faulty. You can also receive SNMP Trap alerts, log systems based on Grass Valley software that go into an SQL database, and GPO contacts for activating visual or audible alarms.
If the router has a multiviewer, you can even display alarms on the multiviewer layout. So, in addition to monitoring the passing signals, you can also check for any issues or service interruptions.
Finally, an important and timely point: power consumption, particularly regarding backup energy solutions?
This is a direct result of centralizing all processes within the router. You don’t have additional consumption related to external frames where various embedders, de-embedders, and multiviewers are installed. So, there’s a savings in both space and energy, as well as reduced environmental conditioning.
